Heat v Bulls

Unfortunately his team wasn't bad enough/lucky enough to pull off the Polynice trade for Pippen, get Grant in the same draft, and make a couple other moves. Pippen is a top 25 player of all time and I don't think LeBron has ever played with one of those. The Cavs did next to nothing outside of rounding up washed up guys. Now, had they made some moves for people outside of Shaq and Jamison I could blame him for leaving but that organization thought they could ride his coattails. We will never know how Jordan would have reacted to the same situation but he never had to.
I'd put D-wade in the top 50 all time, and Chris Bosh probably in the top 200 of all time.

Holy cow how could I forget the most arbitrary of stats that seperate Nique and Bron. Dunk competitions entered! Where you at Bron? Really no dunk competitions? Give the fans what they want you punk

CyJack since you are using MVP's I am gonna use Dunk Competitons. Which means Spud Webb is greater than Bron.

Another thing Lebron is afraid to do by himself.

+1,000,000

...then we have all these people (probably too young to even honestly discuss it) who wonder why so many people liked MJ more than this guy.

You liked MJ because you were young (much like the lebron fanboys today) and didnt realize how big of a dbag he was. Its the same thing. Only difference is MJ is a bad person, fact. Lebron hasnt done anything to prove that he is. This coming from someone that hates them both but realizes how good they both were/are.

Well this thread turned completely stupid...

I post in the arguments where our resident LeBron jock sniffers demand that I like the guy, or insist that he's the goat already or destined to be goat.

I'll kindly abstain from this one. He's an elite player and obviously top 50 ever even if didn't play another game (likely already top ten). He's easily the most physically gifted basketball player to ever play, I'm tempted to say most physically gifted athlete in any sport I've seen.

The thing I like most about LeBron, is that after shortly after league coaches criticized him and his sidekicks for being floppers...and after Kobe asked him "Where are your balls at man?"...he ended the stupid ridiculous flopping that made him look like a tank sized baby. Didn't hurt his team or his play one bit, actually from the moment he stopped being an epic flopper they have gone on one of the most dominant playoff and regular season runs ever. Congrats on that.

You're a Kansas JHawk fan who watches I Love Lucy reruns every night. Your favorite color is green. Your name is Joe. Your lucky number is 6. You're more of a cat person than a dog person, but you still love dogs.

They did it without Rose, Noah, Hamilton and Belinelli. Not too bad.

They used the thing people who never watch the NBA and can't execute simple math (48 min, 24 sec) claim does not exist, like they do nearly every regular season game under TT.

Yeah, probably but Wade isn't in his prime and hasn't been. Also I wouldn't say Bosh is any more useful than Rodman was. Both have or had great teams around them when they won. Lebron got to his team differently because he had to.

Bosh is obviously a much better offensive player but when your top two guys drop 60 on a given ho hum night you can't often even truly utilize his offensive skills unless one of them is having a really bad night shooting. If I were starting a team from scratch I'd take Bosh every time, if I were starting a team with Jordan/Pippen or LeBron/Wade I'd take the defensive/rebounding freak every time.

That style works great in the regular season, not so much in the playoffs.

That's what I was trying to say I guess. You got the point even if I didn't put it out there very well.

You're saying defense doesn't work in the post season? I'm not claiming the Bulls are the ultimate team, without their two best players they equalized for one game with defense. Basic stuff...unless you're an NBA hater and then there is no defense in any of these games.

It's possible to comment with how the Bulls just bested the Heat in one game without claiming they're superior in every way or the better playoff team. I guess in your brain you thought I was saying the Bulls could win the NBA playoffs without Rose and Noah?? Defensively the Bulls can compete with anyone even with a few injuries to their best players, even at full strength they're very limited offensively.

Thibodeau is a very good coach and his teams overachieve during the regular season because he gets guys to buy in and play defense with great intensity each and every night. During the playoffs when the defense goes up around the league, the Bulls advantage is negated. They aren't winning a title even with Rose and Noah, they are a scrappy team but even at full strength they are still aways away from being serious title threat.

This part where I'm arguing the Bulls are a title contender...that exists only in your Heat fanboy mind. I never said that. The non-Heat jock sniffers among us were talking about one game, quite an interesting game but in a season of 82.

The Bulls are still a better defensive team in the playoffs than most teams. There's no rule that they can't improve on offense or get better offensive personnel somehow and if they did they'd still be a good defensive team as long as TT is coach. Every team in the league would hire TT in a heartbeat if they had a vacancy. He's the rare combination of a strict coach who every player still loves playing for.

Not having 5 starters on the floor at any point in the season is going to hurt the offense, especially when your 2 best playmakers in Rose and Noah are the ones most often injured.
