What I don't understand is why so many of them want to play ISU in a bowl game. Like, eww. We don't want that. At all.
it is kind of telling were the mind set of the fan bases are at.. here we are talking about playing Florida/Ta&m/ a few others most likely, possibly a higher team.. they want us....
Exactly. No Iowa State fan want's to play Iowa in a bowl game. Our sights are set higher. It appears a majority of Hawk fans, including Chris Hassel want a bowl game against Iowa State.
Since 2019. Iowa State makes up 1/3 of Iowa's wins versus teams with a winning record (Wouldn't playing in the B1G be fun...). Other 2 are Minnesota last year (good win but this year proves PJ was a one hit wonder) and USC in the bowl (fake ID team) They care about us because we are the best program they have beat.
My dad thinks it goes back to the best Iowa football team in the modern era. 2002, when ISU was their only regular season loss. He thinks their fan base still hates us for that
I love your allegiance to ISU, but you really should not have friends that are Hawk fans. You life will improve without them. It did for me!
Goes back to Fry. Fry tried to get ISU pushed to D2 or 1AA status so he did t have to compete with another D1 team instate.

I agree. I am fine giving them a game during the season, but they can do their Music City Bowl or whatever this year.

Why would Iowa want us in a bowl game? We would embarrass them big time.
Based on how good that 2002 Iowa team was, they still hate the fact that loss forced them to play in the Orange Bowl (I think the Rose Bowl was the championship game that year). Still have fond memories about much of that season, even if it did end in disaster for us.
I didn’t go to the game, but I was in Iowa City that day. It was almost as if the life was completely sucked out of the entire metro area that evening. No energy whatsoever.
Why do all the Hawk fans want to play us in a bowl game? I’d much rather play a different P5 team. Are they hoping to shoe into a NY6 bowl?
Some guy was on Murph and Andy yesterday and he couldn't believe Iowa was ranked so low and ISU so high. Said something like "look at the records we both have two losses so why are they so high. They lost to Louisiana." Murph or Andy then said "yeah but Iowa lost to Purdue." The moron didn't say anything after that.
I don’t think their offensive unit scored in that bowl game until it was nearly already over. I think they returned a kick early and then just field goals. They hung for the first half, and then the superior team took over.
