Yeah, ditto on making sure not to gawk while driving on the road to Hana. We actually saw a car off the road where they were lucky that some sort of tree caught them, because it was several feet from being a bigger disaster. Odd thing is, we never saw the driver/passengers because it was abandoned, but the hazards were still going so it had to of happened that day.

Not to hijack the thread, but please keep the Kauai tips coming! Same for you @cowgirl836
You have to see the Napoli coast by air and by boat! Take a helicopter tour they are amazing! But also see it from the water with a snorkel cruse, you will not be disappointed. If it is still there, I would also recommend the mud buggy tour.

This is fantastic - thank you!

Intention would be to visit over winter break, somewhere in the mid-Dec / pre-Xmas timeframe. Thinking a combination of light activities and sightseeing, but also want to prioritize relaxation and beach time. Along with plenty of wining and dining opportunities!
You will have to go on a whale watching boat. We went last year in January and it was one of the most amazing things I've ever done. Can't remember the name of the company we used but they were out of Lahaina and used smaller dingy type boats that fit about 15-20 people. The small boat was awesome because we could move quicker and get to spots before the larger tour boats were able to.

We rented a Jeep in Kauai because we wanted to go as far as we could off-road.
