Haliburton Shoe Deal

I'm kind of outing myself as the resident shoe nerd in this thread based on some of the reactions. NB ain't your dad's shoe company any more. New Balance and Asics are the "in brands" right now with sneakers. The 2000's metallic panels with tons of mesh aesthetic is hot right now. New Balance blew up again in the last 5 years with some pretty notable collaborations that end up going for thousands of dollars on the resale market.

Nike/Jordan brand are a ship with some holes in it. If they don't put their pride and ego aside, that ship is going to sink. For the price of a premier Nike running shoe, I can buy a New Balance with a full suede leather upper, way better cushioning, and a shoe that will last way longer than Nike's construction.

All of the kids on my son's travel baseball team have NB cleats.

I'm hard on shoes to begin with but I went from only Nike to never buying them again. The construction has gone to absolute **** in the last decade or so. I've started leaning into other higher end running brands and trail runners although my recent Mizuno shoes were trash also. Currently rocking some Ons and North Faces pretty regularly.

That's a bandwagon I just can't jump on. They remind me of 00's Payless Nike Shox. I'm a NB man through and through. I'm fine paying extra for the comfort I get from a 993 or a 990v6. Their 1080v13 is one of the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn. For a teacher who is up walking in circles around a classroom all day, foot comfort is paramount.

I totally get what your saying and the ones I wear have a little more of a AirMax profile from the side with only a couple holes in the heel. The comfort and construction are there. Keeping them clean is a PITA with the way the mesh lays though.

Thread appears to be about Tyrese signing with Puma, but instead I see posts trashing Nike.

I saw an article just yesterday that Nike is no longer the shoe that the younger generation looks to. The Air Jordan had an incredible run but Nike needed to chase after a younger superstar. That's what Puma, NB and others are doing to bring in the younger demographic.

$8M/yr on the low-end.. $15M/yr on the high-end based on Giannas' $10M/yr..

Since he's "The Face of Puma Basketball" I bet it's closer to $10M+/yr or incentives can take it over $15M

The only brand of golf shoe I've purchased in over a decade is Puma. They make the best lightweight shoe that fits me well and they look sharp.
Yep, the comfiest golf shoe money can buy. They are comfy from the moment you put them on.

My everyday shoe is a pair of Ons and I love them!

Great for Hali, but damn that's ugly.
That's likely not his signature shoe. Usually in their first year, they'll wear a newer model designed to drive interest to the company. They'll probably wait until the All Star break or next season to unveil his signature shoe.
