Kenny Wayne Shepherd has Noah Hunt sing most of the time....KWS has a poor singing voice, actually. Nice guy, love his playing, but Noah is the voice.....

General question for everyone in this thread:

What's the best new Rock Band you've heard in the last 3 years?

I've been trying to thing of real honest to goodness rock bands, and I am coming up with a lot of blanks.

I guess it depends on your definition of rock band, but I will accept all variety of answers just to satiate my curiosity.

You may like Annisokay:

Or Bad Omens:

They may be a little harder than what you like, though.

NOPE. Total and complete Led Zeppelin rip off. I really like Zeppelin. Yes they sound like them, and that's their whole shtick. They are like Coke Zero. I'd rather have the real thing. Just a personal thing. I think it's fine if people like them. I like a lot of stuff that others don't, but when the band dismisses that they try to sound like LZ I have to laugh. It's blatant.

So in my case maybe it isn't that there isn't any good rock music out there anymore, it's just that I'm so incredibly ******* lame.

My biggest problem is radio airplay categorizing groups like Twenty One Pilots, X Ambassadors and other similar groups as hard rock, which annoys the hell out of me. ou812zx mentioned a few groups I would consider hard rock. If the guitar is not in the forefront of the song, then it's not rock. I really like Slash and Myles Kennedy's new stuff.

Some of it is okay. Like Kenny Wayne Shepherd, for instance. Now that I think about it, it's probably more about the lead singers voice. KWS's voice is substantially deeper and more fitting, to me.
I don't think he sings lead. IIRC he changed lead singers from his first album to his second.

The Dead Weather is pretty good IMO. I think it is another start-up by Jack White.

Ghost is 'newer'? I guess if you're only going by radio play.

A lot of the bands that were mentioned in response to this question are older than you think. Their debut albums are definitely older than 3 years anyway, if that's how you're looking at.

Sorry - I was more looking at bands still making music.

They've been around for a few years, but I like the Black Angels.
