Last time there was any word that there might be a coaching change with the Football program each potential coach was given their own thread with info about their background/style. Way too many threads going back and forth about different coaches and its difficult to follow. So, get it together! Lol. This post is mostly sarcastic.

I wish we could have different threads for each candidate. Or at least differentiate between Wish List Candidates and actual rumors.

There was also a flight tracker thread. That is one thing I remember from the last go around. Some people were going nuts with that.

You guys forget that we were replacing Hoiberg last coach search. Whole 'nother level of crazy we're talking about here.

Consolidated mega threads are only beneficial for people who have time to wade through each page.

Which equals page clicks, which equals $$$ for CF! :jimlad:.... sort of.

Seriously though, mega threads are pretty much the anti-Google. Good luck finding any useful information from them.

Individual threads with specific topics with updated original posts are much easier to sort through and more informative.

Just another guy's opinion.

There's 700 posts in the consolidated coaching search thread. You tell me where the good posts/info are located in that beast.

I'll click the thumbs up button on the post of the person to start a consolidated consolidated coaching rumors thread which bookmarks the actual important posts from the regular consolidated thread. I might even click the 'add to this user's reputation' button for them too.

I see a lot of people discussing Willie Fritz. Why the hell is everyone talking about Willie Fritz, I wonder.

I slowly go through the mega thread. After several frustrating minutes I find the reason-- a post quoting another post which links a CBS article stating that Fritz is interested in the Iowa State job.

Would have been so much easier if this CBS article had a thread to itself.

This. It seems like most people prefer mega threads but for me they are worthless. I find myself visiting this site less and less because it is getting harder to find any useful information. Shame.

Megathreads work well if the first post is used as a "latest news" bulletin.

Just having a thread where all the news is somewhere on page 26 slapped between posters bickering and Herpeyes leaving opinions nobody wants is not useful

Megathreads are fine for gameday threads or elite recruit threads.

But things are very fluid during coaching searches, with newsworthy things appearing every few hours. Megathreads are thus terrible during coaching searches.

Every new piece of news. Every new rumor. Every new significant tweet. They all deserve their own thread!

This deserves to be repeated. If we are going to use megathreads, the first post needs to be updated to include any/all useful information posted/discussed within it's megamonstrosity.
