Friday OT: what is that?

I don't know what this is.
 

Oddly, Wilburt Hutton (ISU chem prof), in his last year before retirement, spent the first class of Chem 177 going over how to use a slide rule on a 6 foot large slide rule. Seemed out of place for the early 90s, but I guess that was the class that he'd been teaching for a career, and he wasn't gonna make any changes at that point.
 
Knew it right away. I'm still trying to figure out @SCyclone 's image, though. Looks like something to do with weather...

It's a rotor control for a TV antenna. I remember trying to get the NFL games to come in, and going back and forth until is was as good as I could get it. (My brother thought I was nuts.)

(He's mostly right.)
