Friday OT: Student section shenanigans

It's no coincidence that in 2013, the student section chanted "F*** McGary" and the basketball team reached the Sweet Sixteen."

Then, last year, they chanted "F*** Bohannon" and the basketball team reached the Sweet Sixteen.

We need to determine this year's opposing player, with a three-syllable last name, who will be playing in Hilton and pass along this data to Cyclone Alley.
I think F*** Bohannon would still be appropriate. He'll for all I know he still might be playing

McCaffrey?
McGary is correct. I totally forgot about Mitch McGary (Michigan player). He threw an elbow or something that caused the chant. Now I am curious to rewatch the game to find what he did haha

That was the game where their AD said afterwards they didn't realize how tough of a place Hilton would be to play and wish they hadn't scheduled the home and home. What a loser comment, they thought they would waltz in and get an easy Power 5 win.

I hope @Angie is ok I took it upon myself to add an OT subject today. In honor of football season being right around the corner, what is your best ISU student section shenanigans you were a part of or witnessed (any sport).

My favorite moment I was part of was flopping when Marcus Smart was introduced during the 2014 ISU-OSU basketball game (the same game as the famous Naz Long buzzer beater to send the game to OT)

What do you all have at your favorite moment?

Football 1971 in Clyde Williams ,hosting Nebraska. Big Red fans walking on the field in front of student sections were absolutely pelted. Also, the new stadium circa 1975 when the somewhat unfortunate tradition of passing students up got underway.

We passed up students in the 80's it was sort of a accepted tradition, along with wine botas.

Pretty sad showing for a ranked matchup and some of those who did show up seemed more interested in building a foam finger snake to the upper deck. Hope there were a bunch of exams tonight or a lot.of studying going on.as they didn't even fill up.their lower level sections.

Truth is, students usually only show up for 2-3 games a year. This year was 3 luckily, but Tyrese Hunter was the reason for the Texas student turnout.
