How dare you, sir! As a connoisseur of 80s music, I can assure you there are far, far more obvious choices here than Men At Work and Tears For Fears.

I mean, personally, I kinda enjoy A Flock Of Seagulls, for example, but I can see why other people wouldn’t. I just can’t see why Men At Work would be offensive to anybody (except maybe for Dr. Heckyll & Mr. Jive).
Those bands just were not my cup of tea. I have no problem if you enjoy them.

For me, Madonna is a mediocre vocalist who relied sex appeal and shock value to promote her brand. IMO you could plug any female professional vocalist with the same publicity stunts for promotion into Madonna's role and the results would be the same.

Madonna was a top notch performer but far from a top notch musician.
Good Lord, have you seen Madonna lately? WOOF! And she is about to embark on the "tired old hag" tour 2023

Behind you
...umm...in what strange, cloud-nine world did you attend middle school?! Even the few "fond recollections" I have of ms are painful - like the time I didn't get baptized by the school bully...
Meh, wasn't that bad. Thinking more about the summer nights and all the meaningful "firsts" we experienced.

I did not care for Men at Work, but I will say that if you get a chance to see Colin Hay now a days, go! he is fantastic and tells a lot of great stories.

Also, Tears for Fears and Men at Work had multiple hits. Flock of Seagulls and Soft Cell, I'll let the one-hit wonder label slide. (I realize you didn't say that in your post.)

Usually Janis Joplin makes these lists. Kind of surprised no one mentioned her.

********************

I won't say I hate Led Zeppelin, but I don't have any of their albums. A few singles I got in some boxes of records along the way.

It took me a while to figure out why I didn't care for most of their music. It finally dawned on me that I don't care for Robert Plant's style of singing. I'm NOT saying he's not an extremely talented vocalist, I just don't care for his style. (I had a similar reaction to Elvis Costello's vocals, which I got over fairly quickly, but still a few exceptions there, too.)

Which carried over to other hard rock vocalists that emulated his (Plant's) style - which is why I generally have no interest in heavy metal or hair bands in general.

Saw Men at Work Open for Hall and Oates not proud of this concert but the girls needed a ride and I had the 1977 Ford LTD that could take all 7.

LOL stuff those kids in the car and go. We would bring 7 neighbor kids home from BB practice most nights LOL.

Prince, Michael Jackson, Madonna, and my husband were all born in the same year.

Only two are alive, and I hope the one at my house doesn’t do something freaky to his face like the other one.
