French Door Fridge

Can someone tell me the most reliable brand. I have a Maytag that's a POS and looking to replace.

I'll second the Maytag issue. We junked ours well before a new appliance would typically go.

Really disappointed and I'm 100% against the mother ******* French door concept

My Kenmore works fine. Not sure they make them anymore though.

I'd buy a month subscription to consumer reports and see which ones they rate as the best.

I have an LG, no issues at all and we love it.

I had a GE profile, had to replace the compressor twice in the first 4 years, once under warranty, the other time not. Do not recommend GE appliances.

And this is where it seems like it can all be a crapshoot because you hear nothing but bad things about LG and Samsung online a lot of times. But i've heard repairers say that they all have similar failure rates.

The thing with the Samsung\LG fridges is they're so much cheaper than a comparable GE you could almost afford to have one fail and buy another. Or just use some of the savings on extended warranty.

I think they still make Kenmore but not positive.

We have one in basement we use mostly when all the kids are home but also store drinks in there.

I just assumed they died with Sears, but I could be wrong.

Kenmores are just rebrands of other manufacturers' fridges (they use different manufacturers for different fridge types). Some Whirlpool, some LG, some GE

There’s a Kenmore store on Amazon. Wonder how close to the door they come with free Prime shipping?

GE French doors(ice and water on door)with bottom drawer freezer came with our house and around 6yo now. No issues since we’ve been here and filters are super easy to change but cost around $50 each.

Oftentimes the problem is finding someone to honor the warranties by servicing these brands - few repair shops do.

Whirlpool 41/2 yo, ice maker jams occasionally and just replaced the LED light last week. The light from Whirlpool was $96. I got the part number and ordered on Amazon for $20.

I’ve purchased the Kitchen Aid version twice in the past 8 years and not because the first one was broken.

Looking to replace our dishwasher here soon. Any suggestions? It’s just the 2 of us, I’m planning on getting something pretty basic.

Have already checked out prices at a couple local places, going to check a few more tomorrow on the way to groceries.
