Football Parking

Does anyone know how the D lots are configured? Are they diagonal parking in the same pattern or configuration as the A-C lots? Since they used to be used for RVs, I don't know what it would look like for regular private passenger vehicles.

I imagine they will re-stripe those.

Looks like they're already setup for diagonal car parking per google maps. Which makes sense as they park cars there for basketball.

Question for those that have parked in G6. Have they ever closed it due to rain?

It’s gravel so I don’t remember it ever closing.
Yeah I’m just thinking gravel road type conditions with real heavy rain. I don’t believe I’ve heard them close it in the recent years.

Well I showed up before 4 am at the Iowa game last year, pulled into a spot with my daughter to start setting up for my group. Noticed a bunch of staring people. Then a tapping on my window. Some Jerk in a Truck...WITH A TRAILER, had pulled up behind me and said this is his spot. He said he always parks there and he has people counting on him to get it. I said well its first come first serve and he would have to take a different one.. But he threw a fit.

So after arguing for a few minutes I just moved so he could take his 2 spots for his truck and trailer. He liked to use the "this is Iowa State, I should be nice and give him the spot", not realizing how it works both ways.

As far as I knew you could not bring trailers, and could only take one spot, and it was first come first serve on spots, but this guy sure thought none of those pertained to him.
Parking has always been a community environment with people parking in the same spots every year and oftentimes their community parks around them. Showing a little consideration for these customs is just a kindly thing to do. We are in D2 for nearly 15 years and our row was the same people year after year. We coordinated food and activities. Fortunately the new RV lots will alleviate that with designated stalls. Never ceases to amaze me how people can go straight to being an a$$ instead of kindly talking to someone about a parking situation with cars. It’s not like moving one slot over makes a big difference (usually).

I got a row closer than typical today. B5 instead of B4. Quite a few spots were left in the A5,B5, and C5 sections.

RV parking email has been sent. You have to submit your zone preference by May 27th. Captains is Zone 5 and 6.
Does anyone have an RV Lot Map to share? We don't have anything to park there yet so mostly curious about the layout if we ever do decide to make the move.

I don't have a map, but checked it out while golfing. Rows go east and west from gravel road (previous G7 entrance road) to golf course fence. Decent number of rows. G6 and Haunted Forest will love the ease of leaving now with no G7 there and RVs likely staying until Sunday.

Do any of you park in A2 or B4? Was curious how much grass parking there is in those 2 lots. Do the curb spots get parked up fast? Or no different than the other lots?

I'm guessing the RV Village looks and feels a lot like this. No palm trees, clubhouse or pool unfortunately. You can take a street view look at the sites with the link below.
