Here’s the link to the latest episode of Flo’s podcast. Talk about the Clones starting at the 12 minute mark and end at the 37 minute mark as a part of their ongoing preseason top 20 breakdown. Pretty extensive 25 minute discussion of a lot of topics that have been talked about on here. Every team they had previously broken down only got 10-15 minutes of discussion, so there’s national intrigue in terms of what’s going to happen this year. Everyone seemed to be pretty bullish on the team and the potential they have. Enjoy!

Pretty good discussion. I agree this team could potentially be a top 8 team at NCAAs, but at the same time would take top 10 and continued improvement. Season can't come soon enough!

Good stuff.

Sounds like Echemendia could be eligible 2nd semester but some things still have to happen for him to get into school.

I listened to it late last night, so maybe I misheard, but I was pretty surprised when one of the guys said he saw Degen anywhere from 6th-12th. I know there are some stud freshmen coming in, like Sasso and Lee, but I don't know how you cap Degen's potential placing at 6th.

If I misheard, please correct me.

Otherwise, I thought it was a really cool discussion on our team. They are very high on Echemendia. I loved the line about him and Saunders after Echemendia beat him 10-0: "They are not wrestling peers."

Nah, that was Willie who said that. I don't really agree with him but I can see the logic. Degen is so funky, I can see how it is hard to see him winning that many consecutive matches in a row against high caliber guys that way. He'd have to string together a good tournament, but I don't see anyone at 149 that he can't beat.

Agreed. I've said it before and I'll say it again, he can beat anyone because no one truly knows how to grapple with a preying mantis.

I see the point to an extent, but there's just no way I could say that the third-highest returning All-American at a weight is peaking at 6th place the following year.
