Flora

No offense to the kid but I saw enough of him catching passes a couple of weeks ago
His drop vs BYU was not great though it was a much harder catch than TV makes it out to be since it was a fast ball and the BYU guy nearly tipped it which threw off Flora. I don't think RBs practice catching 60 mph passes.

But, don't forget that Flora had 2 nice catches on the drive right before halftime vs Colorado both for 1st downs. Start at the 6:25 mark.

Was he the QB at ADM a few years ago? I was at one of their games and I just remember the team was kind of average but they had a QB that was by far the best player on the field, and there were a couple other D1 prospects in the game.
Yep He was. He’s Incredible with the ball in his hands. He’s actually a pretty capable passer. Played WR in HS when he was real young I believe. Then moved to QB. His best friend was RB who went to Iowa.

He looked like he was coasting while side stepping, spinning, and blowing the doors off guys. Who almost single handedly beat Lewis Central by himself.

He played all of the skill positions on offense during his

Don't know much about his background aside from what has been shared about his track times in here. Is it possible he was a late bloomer in football? That in tandem with being a 3A school versus 4a or 5a etc. It seems like historically speaking, few kids that come 3a straight to Iowa or Iowa State end up on scholarship right away, although that is more a hunch of mine and less grounded in research.
He was a stud for multiple years in HS. All-State. ADM is 4A and has been a in the quarterfinals and semifinals multiple times over the past 5-6 years. His best friend got a scholarship to Iowa as RB who was 6’+ , 220. But I always thought Aiden had bigger impact I’m guessing his lack of offers came down to size but to tbh he looked smaller on the field in HS to me than he does at ISU. Weird to say.

He hit 19.9 mph on return.
Could be wrong but I didn't detect "pedal to the metal," once free and clear.
Me thinks 1 mph faster was possible.

Fwiw. Minnesota Viking Isaiah Rodgers clocked 23+.
Fastest time ever recorded.

Thinking ISU-Jet Kene N........... has come close

He wasn’t a late bloomer. I watched him play my son’s teams in 5th/6th grade football and I could have told you back then that that kid was special. He and Doll were a great 1-2 punch for ADM in football and track. Glad he’s a Cyclone!

It was 1993 but the class sizes at that time were between 100-110. The growth really hit about 10 years ago when a 7 year tax abatement was created. I was a teacher in the community and have lived here for 40 years.
Thanks. By chance did you used to teach business and drivers ed? I remember I had a teacher there in the 90s that was a big ISU fan.

Thanks for the info. It has been years if not decades since I've actively followed Iowa HS football so was kind of taking a stab at them being 3A. Seems there has been a lot of class reshuffling in the state over the past 15 or so years. 5a wasn't even a thing when I was in high school.

Another great example of an athletic kid playing QB in HS that’s overlooked and can impact games at the P4 level. Flora was a damn good HS player.

Not sure what his plans are, but I get that vibe from Newtons QB.

There is track speed and then there is “game” speed just like how some players don’t look as good at practice but when the lights go on, they play at a higher level. Aiden shows extra juice when given a shot, I’d like to see him used more in the backfield particularly out in the flat with a short pass while one on one with a LB. Abu may be faster but for whatever reason Abu has the ability to make the wrong cut and pick the hole that is closing.

Yes I did. May I ask your name? I’m pretty good remembering former students.

I hope he gets a scholarship next year. He has played well as a returner and become a decent weapon out of the backfield or as a receiver too.
He may have academic scholarships. If he was invited to ivy league schools, he must be pretty capable in the classroom
