Love the competition in the room. It looks like our guys in the lower five weights will start out ranked in the 12-20 range once the early season rankings settle out. To get our guys in these weights to the podium, competition in the room is just what we need. We are also hard wired with this depth to combat the inevitable injuries that happen to everyone. I’m very bullish on us this year.

I haven't posted in years, but I do have a couple of questions.

1) Is Cory Cabanban out of the picture at 133?

2) I feel that Paniro Johnson and Casey Swiderski would all benefit from using their redshirt this year. A year to mature both physically and/or emotionally couldn't hurt. It would probably benefit our lineup in the near future after Carr and Kraisser are gone.

3) Even though he won on Thursday, I would assume the plan is to redshirt Tate Naaktgeboren since we already have Feldkamp as heir apparent for that spot, unless Tate is clearly the better wrestler.

4) I'm "old school" in my beliefs, but I will always believe true freshmen will benefit from redshirting their freshmen year, so my hope is that happens to the fantastic class we had come in. Unless you go to Cornell, it usually works out best in the long haul for the wrestler.

Just my opinion and I'm not that "in the know" with the program like many on here, so whatever works out best for the team is fine by me.
Cabanban may go 125. He’s caught up in the gambling issues though.

1. No idea on Cory. I would like to see how he looks against Frost/Grice. I think he gives up too much size to be competitive at 133.

2. Ech might force the redshirt scenario for Casey and Paniro (if he's clearled from gambling). Don't forget that we have Chittum at 157. He also could redshirt but last year was a greyshirt for him. I don't see Paniro at any weight other than 149.

3. I think your correct

4. Does a greyshirt year change your opinion? Just curious
