I think the idea that Duke completely choked the game away isn't exactly true. I have been reading that over and over again today. Houston's def down the stretch was insane, huge block at one end with less than a minute left, another huge tip / steal on the inbounds pass. Great effort by Houston on the off boards to gather the missed 3 point attempt / dunk to get it down to a 1 point Duke lead. Great def on Flagg on his missed turn around with less than 20 sec left. Hand right in his face.

Yes, there was the Duke missed front end of the one and one, and there were a couple turnovers. But Houston slowly chipped away at that lead for over 10 min. It was more that the experience and never quit hustle / attitude from Houston finally sucked the life out of a dead tired Duke team by the end of the game.
Duke palyed a great game, had almost everything go right for them.

Until the end. Give credit to Houston for continuing to grind it out. Great comeback, great game. Go Big12!

I thought Flagg said he was coming back.

Flagg is going to cash a monster check and get even greater endorsement deals moving up from a minor league pro to NBA pro.

Hunter Dickinson is likely going to make far less $ than he did as a minor league pro the past couple years. He'll get a chance to prove people wrong in the long run but he's not getting a pay raise next year even if he snags an NBA contract somehow.

I’d be surprised if he does.

About a third to half of the first round players are now foreign. So it's only 10-15 American college players a year who are confident of getting first round money, most of whom would be underclassman. Every other American player would be dumb to enter the draft early now but for somebody like Flagg is still going to make way more salary and endorsements in the NBA next year. He's going to get something like a 35-60 million dollar contract depending on options which is still way more than what the BYU billionaire is paying the top young players every season going forward.

Most of our second round types have been seniors anyway but THT and Wigginton would be insane now to enter the draft early as long shots instead of cashing a college check another year or two.

If I was a GM I'd be absolutely salivating to get Florida's Clayton late first round if he really goes that late. I'm guessing the tournament has pushed him into the late lottery though.

cooper is looking forward to his second contract and he doesn’t want to delay it by a year.
