Emmanuel Malou

Actually no. I was just assuming. I do recall a couple of your tweets that went to Diallo. And I caught those not through any twitter stalking of you. If I am wrong about that, I offer my apologies.
Of course I tweeted at Diallo a few times. A lot of Cyclones fan did. We were all desperate when it came to his recruitment. I stopped tweeting at recruits though. It is pointless to do. What you say to them doesn't matter at all and makes you look desperate. I realized that and I stopped doing it. I tweeted at Bridges when his top 5 was listed wrong and I asked him if it was supposed to be ISU instead of Iowa.

I've heard he was NBA potential but just hasn't ever had any good mentors.

That is likely the biggest understatement ever mentioned on this board ever. This is coming from the guy who thought Kane would be alright at ISU.

Odd timing for an offer. It seemed he was practically begging for an offer the last couple years, and the moment Fred is gone, we finally offer him??? I get the impression Fred didn't want him, but the rest of the staff does want him. And they like him enough that they didn't wait to see who is named our new HC.

Or we were just waiting to ensure he would qualify for college

I don't think there's a need for those comments. He got screwed at the high school/prep school he went to so this time around it's likely that the staff wanted to make sure all the smoke was cleared. I believe Otz originally recruited him so there's that connection.

I know he's 2016, so will he have two or four years of eligibility?

He should have 2 years. He's going to a JC.

What's so wrong about my comments? I'm not saying anything bad about him. I'm just speculating what might be going on. Don't you agree the timing is unique? I actually like him and have been frustrated they didn't offer sooner. If there was a hint of criticism in my post, it was towards the staff, not towards the recruit.

Iowa State was very interested in him and definitely did want to offer him (solid source) when Malou was at ABCD, but weren't sure he'd make grades, so to speak. The feeling was mutual. Malou wants to play (at least has wanted...who knows what new head coach does) at ISU.

Here is an article from over a year ago outlining the issues with the guy that ran the prep school where Malou, and several other kids got screwed. http://whotv.com/2014/02/25/bad-bounce-basketball-academy-a-scam/

I know a couple kids who know Malou personally and have played with him. The kid has serious talent (KU is talking to him, but hasn't offered yet...as of a month ago...ISU and KU were his top two). Let's hope the new staff can still reel him in.

We need bigs in the worst way for 2016, hope we reel him in.

Supposedly shot 47% from 3pt at YUBA College in California. When with ABCD Prep, ran into a bad handler by the name of Glendan Alexander (McDonald's All American back in 1996). Alexander appeared to be owing quite a few people money creating an illegal prep team, making everyone ineligible on the team.
Will be 22 when coming to play for Prohm, but has a big edge on playing in Australia.

Who knows, some NBA scouts know of him, very talented, but looks tentative sometimes down low
