Ejim Technical

So they maul ME and people think it should be a no call? Spradling kneed Ejim in the face, but that was okay?

While I was watching on TV, I initially thought they'd call a foul on Spradling & then thought they'd 'T up Kane for initiating a minor skirmish by pushing Spradling. I even thought they might possibly get the KSU kid for pulling on Ejim's chin. Was completely shocked that the T ended up being assessed to Mel.

That's what I thought should have happened. Kane was the one who wanted to start something, not Ejim...

I think Mel took Spradling's elbow to the chops when Spradling jumped on the pile.

I thought they were going to call common foul-Spradling.

I looked at my monitier just like those jokers did.

To me it was an obvious no call all around. Just call a jump ball, tell everyone to settle down and give the alternate possession to the correct team.

That doesn't give the refs any camera time! Love watching those guys do their thing! It's so hard to be an official, they get more right than they get wrong, they don't affect games to the point of costing one team a loss, if you can do better then go start reffing, these guys don't get paid enough, really a thankless job.

In the "old days," that whole series would be a tie-up, refs would have stepped in to calm both teams down, and then the possession would have been ISU's. (Although, if the opponent was KU, it would have been traveling on Mel, technicals on both Mel and Kane, and Kansas would get 4 FTs and two possessions of the ball to include the one between two free throws).

FIFY

Was shocked it was on Mel. Don't understand that at all.

I actually thought the Kansas State players started the shoving and I thought one of their players should have gotten a T. Then I thought that they might give a double tech to Kane and the Kansas State player. The fact that it went to Mel was shocking.

The officials were idiots today. We got mauled by Kansas State repeatedly and got called for some questionable things. Several of the jump balls were crap. Monte's foul with 46 seconds left was a steller acting job by the Kansas State guy and the officials should know better than that.

It should have been a jump ball and that's it. Refs let it get out of control and than missed both calls by calling it on Spradling and a T on Ejim.

They could call a foul on every jump ball where guys are rolling on the floor. But it's never a foul and always a jump ball.

They said it was because he extended his arm and hit him in the face. Mel has a temper and I'm about sick of it. I love his fire by he does **** like this every game. That and his little arm push off every game. He and Hogue need to check their tempers because it could cost us down the road.

Yes, the two undersized post players who both have led the big 12 in rebounding should definitely play with less fire and intensity. Ejim has been called for very few techs, this is not an issue. For how much both of these guys put up with on the post being undersized they can be as chippy as they want.

Please explain for someone who was at the game.

Looked like a cluster**** of officiating.

It looked like to me it was the only way the refs were going to get out of the chippy bs that happened after the scrum to get the ball. There was a lot of trash talking on both sides, and I think Ejim just got the raw deal. Ejim was grabbed by the dude across the face with a ref standing right there. The refs were calling held balls/possession changes like crazy towards the end of that game! Never seen anything like it

Melvin extended his right arm into the face of Will Spradling. He must have been frustrated with the tussle

Pretty sure the first thing I said was I liked Ejims fire. He just throws elbows and shoves all the time. I'm all for intensity but they are bordering on dirty. Every time Hogue gets a rebound he comes down strong, which I love, but he throws bows like crazy.

Should have been a jump ball with no fouls called. Pretty dumb call is you ask me.

That was basically a ref induced fracas caused by their own indecision. If they come out and just make the right call quickly and with confidence this is nothing.
