If you are in the far left and passing, and there are several cars behind you, turn your damn cruise control off, press the accelerator and pass, don't turn into.a rolling roadblock.
I believe either the county engineer or the state DOT has discretion under the new law to leave some roads at previously posted speeds.
I'd be hard pressed to believe there is a significant mileage differential between 55 to 60.

People - you don't always need to be scrolling or posting updates. If you have a car built anytime after... 2015? It should have bluetooth for calls and most even read texts to you.
And slow the hell down in residential neighborhoods. We have people regularly going 35+ down our street and it's infuriating. I don't even allow my kids to play in the front yard. Makes teaching the 5 year old how to ride a bike hard.
I'd have to find it but every increase of 5 mph after I think 50 is pretty significant.
And it doesn't save much time especially for a work commute or similar.
I literally think they are too stupid for this to cross their mind.
Some are a-holes, on purpose, but I think 95% are stupid.
And, when accelerating, the cruise doesn't even turn off. It goes back to your speed once you've passed.
He'll even tell you straight up if he can't get you better coverage or save you money. I had him review my stuff and he was honest with me... I appreciated that.
I agree with the straight through car having right of way. Was curious what AI thought so I gave it the scenario with northbound going straight and southbound turning and here is what it said.
The northbound car (going straight) has the right-of-way once traffic clears.
Even though the southbound car arrived at the intersection first, the required 30-second wait for cross traffic resets the situation. Because both vehicles are stopped at the intersection simultaneously waiting for a gap, standard right-of-way rules for opposing traffic apply: a driver turning left must yield to oncoming traffic going straight.
I was judging off of the mileage records I keep in my vehicle. 55 to 70 a pretty good jump, additional headwinds in addition to your speed seems to effect things more IMO.
I just traveled to KC last weekend, and even though it has been a law longer there than here, people are still pretty bad about it. Absolute worst offender I saw on our trip was a woman from Wisconsin with a Packers plate literally leaning to her right for miles clearly watching something on her phone as her eyeline was directed down to the center console the whole time. Every time she changed lanes, she oversteered going over the outside lines. Like what is so damn important that you can't wait.
Also, I see people all the time on video calls during my morning commute. Like, WTF! Which, side rant, there's a special place reserved in hell for video calls on speaker phone in public places people, especially at the airport.
I've only ever heard bad things about State Farm so good luck with that.
My daughter would agree ... at least when she was a teenager. I let her have my old car when I upgraded and she wrecked it three times before the last time did it in for good. She went into a ditch, backed into something and then hit a car parked along the side of the road. The car had metal hanging down from it after that and she still tried driving it. I had to take the keys away from her after that.
This reminds me of the day when big trucks used to have signs that said how much the vehicle paid in road taxes.

You just don't know where a mind goes after that. I was there afterwards for 30 minutes with the EMTs, Sheriff's Dept, Tow Trucks etc. Scanning the debris field I couldn't help noticing the brand new air filter I had just installed two days earlier and thought, "Damn, there's $22 down the shitter."
You really have to practice defensive driving skills these days. Stopped at a red light, do not just fly through when it turns green, wait a split second to make sure that someone is not running the light from another lane.

I travel by car a lot to my summer home in Missouri and this is my biggest pet peeve. I hate it. Im at the point that since I am traveling and have nothing else to do, if they have a “how’s my driving” phone number, I actually call it in to their company.
The max speed is something that gets specified by the customer during during the sale. It can be reprogrmmed by dealers when people buy used. Most fleet owners want to limit max speed for fuel economy and insurance premiums. A "push to pass" feature could certainly be implemented, but we can't force owners to buy it. I'm sure the owner/operators and small fleets would, but for sure the big fleets would not.
