Doppelgangers

When I was 17 I was in a Sears in upstate New York with my mom. A woman saw me from across the store and came storming towards me yelling at me until she got right up to me and stopped and said "Wait, You're not my son"
Pretty weird that a mother would mistake another kid as her own.

I have not met them...but a cop buddy of mine has told me on numerous days he has seen a guy that looks just like me and drives the same vehicle as me pass him while he's on duty. He would send me random messages like "what are you doing down here" and "thanks for the call while you're in town" and I'd be really confused.

I saw mine when we were in Boston probably 15 years ago. We were walking opposite directions in the concourse in Fenway. We both glanced up at each other as we passed. Then we both glanced back and did that slight chin-lift thing that said "yeah, I see it too, but I don't trust you enough to do anything about it".

I feel like I missed a golden opportunity to do a Scooby Doo mirror scene.

It sounds like you've found an ideal location to begin your crime spree.

Of course I'd go talk to him, we'd then pull epic pranks on our families.

Tangent story, my uncle met my doppelganger in Florida ~20 years ago. Mind you, this is an uncle who is more like a big brother, he was the baby and closer to my age than he was to my mom's age, so no reason to mistake me. He thought I was there on vacation, stared talking to "me" and when this person was utterly terrified of this stranger acting like he knew him, only then did my uncle realize it wasn't me. Apparently the guy left before my uncle could explain, I hope to cross paths with myself while in Florida some day.

I’ve met mine, heck I live with him. My youngest is basically identical to me. He gets irritated when people look at us and say we are identical.

Haha. cmjh10 are you agreeing that I am ugly enough for two people? Hahaha Have we met? ;)

I got stopped at a work conference a couple years ago by a lady who said I looked exactly like a coworker of hers. She even asked for my picture to show people back at work.

Yesterday my 11 year old said one of their teachers looks just like me.

Good to know there are other shockingly handsome people roaming about for others to enjoy.

I have a unique one...

In college one summer I got called for jury duty in Des Moines. I unsuccessfully tried to get out of it. I drew lucky #2 which means I am already on the jury unless they have a reason to remove me. Juror #1 sitting next to me had the same first name and was also a student at Iowa State. We were both members of fraternities with similar names (Theta Chi and Theta Xi). We both had dark hair and glasses. We were dressed alike, an AE type button down with sleeves rolled up and khakis. It was eerie, but I convinced myself they wouldn't pick 2 guys that were essentially identical to serve on the same jury. They would keep him and remove me. I was wrong, we both were selected to serve.

On a field trip in elementary school I saw my doppelganger from another school. I was around 6-8 years old and the kid looked just like me. My teacher yelled my name at the kid mistakenly thinking I wandered off. My classmates kept trying to get me to go talk to him, but he was already freaked out by getting yelled at by a random teacher for no reason and I was a shy kid so nothing but some quick eye contact was made.

Weird. I always felt that frat guys were so different from each other!
