I'm surprised they can get away with that

i'm surprised their contract allows the carrier to edit/alter legal activity ont he channel.

I would assume they have language in the contract against disparaging each other. DTV just puts a black bar. Probably similar to how they insert local commercials into national channels, where you can always tell the timing is just off and you get a half a second of whatever they inserted over.

I didn’t want to start a new thread on this but my directv guide says the game is on 106 LIVE4K2. So I don’t have that channel. So this game is not even on? FS1 does not have it on the guide

I've been watching alternate streaming sources for quite a while. Aside from the start of the season and the first few minutes of a game (and sometimes the very end of the game if your system has lagged for a while), it really has become my preferred way to view games at my home. Just watch out for the 'download this download helper app' close extra open windows as they appear, and clean your system after your done (also disconnect sensitive data drives before you do any of this).
Pain in the butt! I'll never go the streaming route as a primary source. As for the current issue, it's annoying, but they will get it figured out. In the mean-time, still plenty for games to attend, watch on other channels or follow online like I do from time to time now. That being said, I think BOTH Direct TV AND ESPN are making a HUGE mistake, as most CFB fans will NOT be as patient as I am about this.

We have Direct TV. I’ve had this set to record for some time. Because of this thread I checked my “upcoming recordings” list. It still shows the game as set to record (106 LIVE4K2 as you posted), but now has the circle\back slash symbol on the top line after “College Football”.

I hope this doesn’t mean it’s not going to record! Is this what the symbol is indicating?

I saw a report from Ames (outside of Jack Trice Stadium) this morning with David Pollack on ESPN on my Direct TV. So, I know it's really happening - GameDay in Ames, Iowa, USA! Alas, I have no more use for ESPN on Direct TV. Buh-Bye!

Cannot wait until Tomorrow!
First Cy-Hawk Game since 2001.

The real problem with this, is it's going to raise our DirecTV bill, that is already too high. It's just another money grab for the Disney empire. ESPN thinks they are above everybody else, and quite frankly they suck.

when I sad my bad, i saw it on FS1 schedule. Maybe it is coming and going. I don't know what's going on. I have the red circle with line too at the time. That could only mean I have no access. I will check again tonight after work

OK, TECH GURUS. Get ready for the workarounds. Let me know what the link is. Thanks in advance.

I looked into this since I have DirecTV. I am signed up with a free trial of "youtube TV" at https://tv.youtube.com/welcome/

I signed up with Hulu first but learned that you cannot use a hotspot with Hulu Live TV. I then tried youtube and was able to get ESPN via hotspot.

I have been super impressed with the MLB Network. Some of these hotels carry it and it sucks me in.
