Kid had no D-1 offers out of high school (didn’t even show up on recruiting sites), walked on to ISU, stepped in as a starter this year, and was nominated for the Burlsworth Trophy as the nation’s best Walk-On. He even stepped in tonight and played right tackle for a few plays!!!

I love the skill position guys but I gotta give some love to this kid—-don’t know where our season would be without him!!!

Great story. Before and after the Louisiana game, I thought the OL was going to be a weak spot all year. They ended up being a strength. Props to Schweiger and his line-mates.

Imagine this line too with a healthy downing and healthy Remsburg.

I need sunglasses because their future is. so. bright!

The line next year should be a monster, considering potentially the only player that would have to be replaced is Foster. Then you have Newell at Center, 3 very experienced guards with Downing, Simmons and Schweiger, and at tackle Ramos and Remsburg have started half a season a piece with good results. Hopefully we’ve got another tackle and interior guy ready to go for depth but we’re stacked.

A few weeks ago, a draft site, maybe Pro Football Focus (but I may be wrong), had him as one of the highest graded-out guards in the nation.

Edit: To clarify, not one of the highest draft prospects, but one of the most efficient guards in the nation (offensive line grades given out weekly)
