Decline Bowl Game?

We need to decline the game. We won't have a respectable team to field and no staff to coach us. It's going to be set up for an embarassment on national TV and - worse - for people to get hurt. It's not worth it.

They will lose money on the bowl games but I think the conference foots the bill.

I suspect that Jamie Pollard was pushing publically for the Rate Bowl in Phoenix as a perk to Cyclone fans (donors) in Arizona. Probably also using it as an opportunity to sell some condos in CyTown. That all maybe changing now. It is possible that we could be playing Penn State in the Rate Bowl.

I suspect we won’t have enough players… mostly because of the uncertainty of the 3 weeks leading up to bowl game. Who is leaving? Who is staying? How can you practice without knowing these things?
