This is gonna be so fun to watch. If duals are anywhere close headed to back half of our lineup, there’s not gonna be many that will end that way.
We are going to be very tough at 141, 165, 184, and 197. Should be pretty good, but likely some ups and downs at 125, 149, and Hwt. 133 and 174 at minimum should be qualifiers and solid dual wrestlers. 157 is a toss up and probably will be similar results to what we got out of 165 last year

Outside of the bookend weights, the dual with the sqwauks is going to be a barn burner

133- Tossup between Schriever and Ramazan/Noonan
141- Iowa favored, but Woods/Swiderski is going to be damn fun to watch
149- Iowa solidly favored, Murin is tough. But Paniro is very explosive
157- Iowa State might actually be favored here. Both teams weakest weight in the lineup
165- Iowa State favored, but Kennedy is tough. Will be a fun match
174- Iowa slightly favored, but little Brands is very beatable
184- Iowa State favored, but Assad is solid
197- Toss up- NCAA finalist from Iowa, but Yonger did beat him early last year. Will be another fun match

Does anyone know if Stanford is going to the Scuffle this season? I could've swore I saw that they were and if so David will face the best 165 has to offer before NCAAs

Don’t know why you guys do this to yourselves with Iowa. It won’t be close.

It would take some upsets for sure (like a freshman over the #2 ranked wrestler at 141) and we would need Lee to sit out, but it isn't like last year where there was 0% chance going into the dual for winning the meet. Plus it's the offseason, perfect time to get our hopes up with probably unrealistic expectations

If u want to get your hopes up just to be devastated later, I guess you’re free to do that.

Maybe not 0% but still less than 5%. The only match I’m fully confident about is 184.

I would agree I am most confident in 184, but I am also pretty confident in Carr at 165. There are also more toss ups in this years dual than years past. Obviously in Carver if you start to lose those toss ups, momentum is very difficult to get back, but there are only 2 matches where I would say we have no shot at winning (125 with Lee and Hwt). Last year there were at least 4 matches with absolutely 0 chance of winning (133, 141, 165, Hwt).

57, 65, 84, 97 - that’s 4 weights with real, legitimate opportunities for W’s. They need Lee to wrestle

Does David go 157 and hope for 6 team points? 5 at the minimum

Best team option would be for David to go 165 and beat their stud freshman Patrick Kennedy. Whoever we throw out at 157 will have a better than decent chance to win, but if David went down we'd probably be giving up 4+ at 165

I don't see any reason why a full-feed Carr can't handle Kennedy. Kennedy is great, but his best assets are his pace and explosiveness, and Carr can handle that, especially without having to cut so much weight.

I know another year in the Iowa room will make Kennedy even better, but looking at past matches, Carr is definitely the better wrestler on his feet and on the mat.

Carr will bonus Kennedy. He's on another level right now.
