If they trim the shrubbery around the base it would look bigger.I hadn't noticed that the hotel is elevated and there looks to be parking below it. I know it looks taller than Hilton here but I wish it was a little taller lol. Just like one more floor, c'mon yolo
True. It worked wonders on my deck I'm sure it'd work here too.If they trim the shrubbery around the base it would look bigger.
I will say it did seem frustratingly quiet this year. Always been positive on it from Iowa States side but was beginning to get a little worried from the Goldenrod side the way the economy has been going and the history of projects that start and then hit roadblocks and die.You mean there are not problems with this project? Oh my gosh. What's going on? How can I read something negative into this tweet?

This whole project really does show who the dumbs are that comment and read nothing. Or the haters who hate no matter what. If you have read or listened to anything Jamie has said since it started he has been extremely transparent.

A $200 million dollar project is going to have various delays, surprises, adjustments, while dealing with a private individual investors/developers that are seasoned.I will say it did seem frustratingly quiet this year. My kid’s middle school addition is a year behind because of City permits and waiting for inspections. It’s necessary, but the bureaucratic side almost always lengthens the projectOr really, people not understanding how things work. They act like this is as easy as getting a permit to do work on your house (even that can be a pain). But there are multiple more layers to the commercial/government building process.
Just to try to provide clarity to Jamie’s tweet so people don’t have expectations that aren’t reality. September 2nd is ground breaking for CyTown (the collection of buildings next to the clinic, closer to Jack Trice). They are still in the planning/exploration stages for the hotel, but indications are that it will be completed closer to the time frame of the rest of the project compared to early timelines when it was going to come at the end.It never made sense to me why the hotel was considered the last part of this project and not the first... Glad to see that it will break ground in early Sept
Agreed, but it still might be...the tweet just says "CyTown" groundbreaking Sept 2It never made sense to me why the hotel was considered the last part of this project and not the first... Glad to see that it will break ground in early Sept
POLITICS.It's annoying that the AD has to waste time and resources presenting and getting approval from a board of regents that only meets twice a year. Meanwhile places like Texas Tech have their own personal BOR with their billionaire donors on it lol.
Looked up the BOR for giggles, ISU actually has the biggest representation with 3 alums. ZERO from Iowa (lol) the rest graduated from Loras, Drake, Virginia and K-state, and one student rep from UNI....
Why is thhe board not a majority alumni of Iowa's public universities? Surely that should be the goal right? At least we have 3 on there I guess that's good. Seems like they approve everything anyways, just seems like a waste of time.
