Cyhawk postgame thread

Hard to get excited to come out to the game when your QB struggles to breach 100 yards.

I don't listen to two guys much or anything but Hassle imo isn't that bad and is often pretty tongue in cheek about things from what I've seen.

That 'Another 54 yarder! What is going on!?' is pretty funny.
He’s very knowledgeable of and respectful of ISU athletics.

Also, he’s a professional, national sports guy. His takes are educated, polished, and easy to listen to.

Unpopular …but I think we need to move this game to every other year or something.

Winning does little for us, it’s a really bad game to watch from an entertainment perspective.

I’d be in favor of reducing the number of times we play Iowa.
Maybe don’t look at this game from a selfish standpoint. It’s college football, it’s all driven by $$ now, long standing hate rivalries are kind of the only thing left.

RE: the passing 'record' set by the Iowa QB, I was at this game in 2017 with the great Nate Stanley .

This was a week after Iowa blitzed tOSU in Kinnick.

Notes:
1. A good lesson that every week is different.
2. Iowa's DB Jackson had way more yards in returns for TDs than Iowa's offense.

Given that it took till almost gameday to sellout, I’m thinking there is a record low number of Iowa fans there today.
They really only had any kind of a showing in the Away sections afforded them through the University it appeared. In past years there usually is many many more throughout the stadium. Cyclone fans sold this one out without much help from TOE, similar to any other non instate game.

I don’t think they respected Iowa enough to use all the playbook. Particularly when ahead most of the game

I’m not sure that’s the best plan, but a W is a W. And it would have been more comfortable if not for some horrendous officiating. Should have been 20-6 type win

Agree on the receivers. We’ll need them to step up in conference play
Sowell had a couple nice catches in the second half. I think we’ll see our transfer receivers start to step up more as the season progresses.

To be honest outside of 1 drive, a couple bad mistakes are what kept this game close. The muffed punt and the penalties giving them fresh downs, really is the only reason this game was not a 2+ score win.

But that is how this game goes. This year we are good enough to handle those types of mistakes. In years past there were more mistakes that we could not come back from.
Nailed it. Just told that to a friend.....we are winning and finding ways to win vs needing things to "go our way"

Feels great. I remember the Neb turnover game we barely won.....how great that felt, but also the reality we almost didn't win despite them handing it to us.
