Cyhawk postgame thread

Unpopular …but I think we need to move this game to every other year or something.

Winning does little for us, it’s a really bad game to watch from an entertainment perspective.

I’d be in favor of reducing the number of times we play Iowa.
If B1G/SEC scheduling alliance is real, Iowa will want to dump CyHawk by 2029. Need to keep it in house.

Along with the tipped pass caught by Burkle (thank the Lord Townsend got a hand on that ball - which is usually bad leading to a pick) as well as the post to Sowell he over threw. Rocco wasnt top Rocco, but thank goodness less than that Rocco was good enough.

Sowell finally off the schneid with a couple grabs & I think he & Townsend take off from here.
I'm pretty sure the tipped pass that Burkle caught was tipped at the line of scrimmage, not just a bad pass to Townsend.

So tipped twice, making Burkle's catch even more impressive!

Hansen is more likely to run people over, big and fast. Sama is fast and elusive while also packing a punch. A great one two combination.

Sama needs to be more decisive in the backfield. When he blasts into the hole that's there he's very hard to bring down. When he's indecisive and dancing in the backfield, that's when he gets himself and the offense in trouble. Sama looked great today when decisive, and a liability when he wasn't.

I have no clue why Iowa quit running that slow mesh RPO. I wouldn’t be shocked if we see that again in Big 12 play at some point
I'm sure Iowa was hoping they wouldn't have to show it this game. Now it's on tape for future conference opponents to see.

Thanks, that was weird, especially as that was just one of several things that wasn’t explained to the TV audience. Didn’t really seem to make a difference about three plays later, but I wondered why it wasn’t at the 2 1/2.

Holding on a punt is marked from the end of the kick, not the end of the return.

Wetjen's backward return to the 5 was a worse spot than if the penalty had been assessed from the end of the kick (half the distance from the 12).

Decline the penalty and give them the ball at the 5 instead of the 6.

Speaking of rivals, I wonder what Purdy and Kittle had as a bet? They've had fun with it the last couple of years. Have to think they did something this year.
At a 49er presser a few days ago, Brock was asked about this. He said that he and Kittle hadn't decided yet. Looking forward to seeing what it was.

That’s the best return Iowa can get on an investment. No other team would get better value out of that garbage compared to what they would normally do. Thats offense you run when you know you don’t have an offense.

You'd think an Engineering school could have that baby souped up a little!

and still keep it looking like a drivable helmet? as someone who spent some time at the engineering school, what you're looking for probably isn't possible as marked up in one of those fast/good/cheap Gantt charts. Like I already said - it's a helmet on a golf cart.

The first time I saw that I thought it was a busted play. Then I thought Iowa was moving in slow motion. They I yelled, “What the hell was that?”

And then they ran it again. I’m not sure why they stopped, ISU seemed as befuddled by it as I was.

Beating Iowa is fun. It would be cool to do this every year from now on.

Offensive play calling was too conservative and it didn’t seem like we tried to take any real chances.

Oh, and Gronowski is horrible. Iowa paying $2.1mil for him and he turned into a scared little baby…this is so good it has to be fattening.

What impressed the heck out of me was that Iowa has one of the top offensive lines and we only rush three, but we stopped the run game amazingly.
