No, it wasn't. Plain old Mediacom 22 was a better option, at least then you could get it nationwide via Game Plan.
Yes if you want to go back to having hardly any content on tv then yeah let's to back to that...solid plan.

Even without Cyclones.tv and Mediacom almost every game is on TV. For the 1-2 football games and handful of basketball games carried by Cyclones.tv, I'd much rather be able to watch via GamePlan or FullCourt than have to **** with hooking up my laptop to a TV and also have the option to DVR the game.

Today, I'm stuck at a kid's soccer tourney all day. By the time I get home the game will already be started and I'll still have to **** with hooking everything up before I can start watching. (I can't do it in advance because I'll have it with me in the car in a desperate attempt to tether to my phone and somehow watch via 4G.) It would be way better if I could just get home and push play and making the games available via ESPN Game Plan/Full Court was a viable option for that.

Don't get me wrong, I love Cyclones.tv and it's gotten me out of some viewing jams, but I think it would be 100% better if they'd insisted as part of the deal that Mediacom make all LIVE ISU content available to Game Plan or Full Court. That would solve a ******** if not all the ******** about Cyclones.tv, IMO.

Screw or be screwed. I think the athletic department is doing fine in the cash department.

Right! They are rich enough!

So is my neighbor. She's rolling in cash. I'm going to go steal **** from her and just say "it's screw or be screwed" and "you're doing fine in the cash department"

I love your logic!

I am sure that they tried to do that but Mediacom wouldn't allow it. And I agree that nothing is perfect but this is a HUGE step forward IMO.

This doesn't really make sense because your neighbor isn't screwing you over.

Cyclones.tv is not a great deal for anyone outside of Iowa. That is all I'm saying.

How is it not a great deal? Its 10 dollars a month or if you do a year it is less then 8 dollars a month.

What the heck are you talking about? Cyclones.TV allows people anywhere in the world to watch ISU sports. It is especially great for people outside Iowa.

How long does the sign up process work? I won't be able to sign up until about game time when I get off work. I'm willing to pay the $10 monthly membership just for the game and then cancel.

You will be able to watch instantly after you pay.

Iowa: FoxSports 1: 150/398 on Dish I think
UNI: Not available on television without either Mediacom or hooking up a computer/tablet with Cyclones.tv.
G
Dish will have the Squawkeyes on B1G Network (438 I think)
Iowa State/UNI apparently will not be avialble on DTV or Dish, which would be worse than usual for most fans who have DTV and were able to get them whenever broadcast on Mediacom via a side channel last season.

Last resort for a free feed is Firstrowsports.

Then comes the easily affordable pay per view feed from ISU. Of course, I would rather make a donation to ISU and have a free feed, but I'm an idealist.

Off the grid
All this ******** but the fact is television coverage this season is better than last season. Every game last year but one was carried on a national network and the same is true this season. The lone game last year was western Illinois and this year is UNI. Those two games were only on cycloneTV. Last year you could only watch it via a subscription. This year you can either watch it with a subscription or on Mediacom.
