Cool event for a smaller team cause you may even only get 1,500 people for a lower tier team but for big opponents you could make more money by wrestling at Hilton
If you want a smaller venue for a smaller team, I’d bring back the auditorium.

There arer so few duals as it is, having them at Hilton is preferred. However, the idea of taking the team "to the people" has a lot of merit, so my vote is for a hybrid - every 2nd or 3rd year in Humboldt, the rest in Hilton. But you know what, I am so impressed by what Dresser has done, let him do what he wants; he has earned it.

While I think it should probably end, I am guessing most of the wrestling NIL money comes from Humboldt area. If it keeps the teams good and transfers coming, keep doing it. Preferably against lower level teams.
If KD makes a lot of money because of big fish up there, you keep doing it. If not, consider bringing big duals back home.
Anyone care to explain “most of the wrestling NIL money comes from the Humboldt area”?

Hadn’t made the connection and genuinely curious- especially in this newer NIL world. Impressed with what Dresser has done from a CRTC fundraising standpoint as well relative to many other competitor wrestling programs.

Humboldt and Algona have quite a few big wrestling donors. Central northern Iowa is sneaky cyclone country.

FWIW I am glad that they still host a dual up there. It's a great way for many to see elite wrestling up close. Even in Hilton you are a bit away from the mats
