Cyclone Open Jan 18

Riggins appears to be the aggressor, just can’t finish the shot. 7-1 Euton end of 2nd.

Idk man. Didnt see the match, but Jax is like 19-20 and been in a college room for a total of about 2 weeks. Ortega is like 26-27. Would think Jax has more room for improvement.
I watched it and Ortega took the shots and was the aggressor.. I do get what you’re saying but Jax has been at this level for awhile I mean he beat Vito at final x. He’s no slouch.

Ortega is a world champion (U23) and has defeated a world champion (Gilman). Even the best lose matches from time to time. I doubt he's inherently less of a wrestler or has a shorter ceiling than Forrest. Also, they were wrestling folk style, in which Forrest probably has a lot more experience.

The way the match played out (from what I can tell watching stick figures and reading the scoreboard) was about the best that Ortega could have hoped for in a folkstyle match. They were on their feet the entire time. I'm not knocking Ortega at all. I hope he gains eligibility and wins a Natty for us. But Forrest is just really, really good.

Forrest is a generational talent.

It kinda baffled me that Jax didn’t try to ride him longer.

Didn’t Osmany get blanked by Seidel?

That’s because when he shot Ortega about put him on his back but the first period ended just in time for him. Did see many real TD attempts after that.

No doubt Forrest is a big problem on top.

The point is Ortega didn’t get lucky to only lose 4-0. He controlled the action on his feet. I think he was too cautious from the front head lock but obviously they knew that Forrest is very good at scoring from that position.

I’m assuming that no one thinks Frost has a shot against Forrest, right? Since Forrest just beat the surefire national champion who must kill Evan?
