Seems like younger didn’t really gain weight since the last time he competed the whole season at heavy? They must think his best combo of speed and power is right at 235-240.
Meza was definitely bizarre, presumably this has triggered a 3rd round of wrestleoffs between him and Perryman, although I hope this doesn't matter. Neither seems ready for prime time.
Interesting point about Johnson, I was disappointed to not get to see him against Zargo, but the guy he was wrestling was no slouch. Could be a little slept on right now. From his UVU bio:

Definitely makes me feel good about that win.
I didn't even know Riggins was injured until they announced it so I am not sure what's going on there.

The big action came with 10 seconds left Evans was down by 2 before getting him. For those wanting to watch this match:
Evans was down by a TD in the third, and got the takedown with about 15 seconds left.
Going back to that Bastida v. Amos match, Amos put on A LOT of mass in the last two years. It seemed like Yonger had trouble with Amos's super-heavy hips. Also, Amos looks to still move really well despite carrying 70 more pounds than two seasons ago. That said, moving that bulk looked to tire Amos out a lot faster than Bastida. Definitely a lot to consider when building a big man, but Amos looks like a contender early on.
Agreed that early look at Amos leads me to believe he's going to be pretty darn good this year at heavy. He hadn't wrestled at all the last two years due to injury and was never very comfortable down 197 before that.
Also, being that big (almost 270lb) at only about 5'10" is a unique body type to match up with. Low center of gravity, a lot of mass and still moves well is a good combo.
That a good early season win for Bastida.
