So we are thinking about dropping our satellite subscription and going to streaming services only. Anyone else done this and have advice?

Right now we're paying $175 for DirecTV, CenturyLink, Netflix, and HBO Now. It looks like if we drop DirecTV and add Hulu Plus, we'd take our bill down to $85 without missing too much programming.

The main problem is lack of ESPN/sports and AMC for The Walking Dead and Better Call Saul. I can probably get my parents login to have access to WatchESPN, so that shouldn't be a problem.

For the AMC shows, a friend recommended torrenting them over VPN. I haven't done torrents since the mid 2000s but it seems like they have really been cracked down on over the past few years, so not sure if that's viable or what.

SlingTV apparently has AMC, but it seems that you can only watch live TV, and I don't usually have the ability to be in front of the TV at a set time anymore.

Those of you that have already dropped cable/satellite, what's the experience been like so far?

Man I did a few quick searches for dropping cable and stuff and didn't see the post with the same freaking title that I decide to use. Fail.
