Nowhere and Everywhere
I know there are plenty of other things to talk about, however. Anyone else notice the students stopped partaking in cowbell with the band?? Sat there confused as the whole student section sat on their hands while it was played.

Moving the students away from the band has really negatively impacted the energy in the stadium.

Another one of JP's brilliant ideas. Or was he forced to move them?

Unfortunately, forced. Too much liability to have students storming the field right in the same place the opponent travels to go to the locker room

Then he needed to move them to the other side where our players travel......and move those ticket holders to where the band use to be. It's not that difficult unless not unlike Hilton, the students are no longer a primary concern. Like Farmin stated.......it has taken a ton of the energy out of the game. I have two kids attending ISU now and they would concur. Especially the oldest who was there when they were down with the band. They have zero impact on the game. Hiding them in the corner took zero brain matter. And I'm beginning to think maybe some in the AD department are missing quite a bit.

Ad department cares about money. That’s it. No offense to them but they certainly are working on screwing Hilton up and moving the students in football has crushed that at atmosphere as well

Hilton is a tough problem for the student section IMO. I wish the high attending students were gaureenteed entry at the full games (Iowa and Kansas) too many other games the balcony student section sits a long ways from full. Some of our fullest non big game attendance is during Xmas break when families splurge and bring the family to Hilton as a Christmas present. The atmosphere is not the same but more seats are full.
I also think students should be able to claim Xmas break tkts for free if they want them.

Due to where the student entrance is, that would not make much sense logistically.

Then move the student entrance. Is it that difficult? They just added an entire south bowl to the stadium a couple of years ago. It would seem if they really want to do something........it gets done. The students and their energy have been sapped out of Jack Trice. And the fact the AD is just fine with that makes it worse.

I'd love to be there when you tell Cardinal and Gold-level donors they need to give up their seats just so the students can be next to the band.

One suggestion fixing two problems: move the students back and move that god-awful plexiglass partition in front of where they used to sit.

Nobody cares about stuff like this when you are winning.. we need to start winning before the parking mob gets louder
Normally I’d agree. But ISU has very few traditions compared to other schools. And unfortunately one appears to have been killed. Win or lose watching the student section during Cowbell was a tradition that many looked forward to.

I would have zero problem telling them they will have the exact same seat......on the other side. They'll get over it. And if they don't....f em. It's not like those are the last donors ISU will ever see. In fact I bet they pulled.....you could have those seats filled before next season started.

Also, you think the future students seeing how JP and his staff are treating them are going to anti up in the future? Need to be able to see past the nose on your face, right? What's the word JP used for the people not liking his expensive, shiny new way of letting people in the game..........oh yeah......"adapt". Well then donors...........adapt. Someone had to give up their seats so JP could hide the students in the corner. Maybe it wasn't some big time kick butt donor, but when it comes to the students who gives a f. There are more people willing to donate. And if done right now........a lot more in the future. This isn't difficult.

Separating the band from the student section was a poor choice. The wall on the west side of sukup was also. How was the wall version 2.0?
