If you are sick, elderly, or otherwise in need of assistance, please add a post here with the basic information so somebody can IM or contact you. Hopefully somebody will be able to assist based on need, proximity, etc.

Examples:

1 - High-risk person in Des Moines with no relatives close by, need assistance with groceries.

2 - Have extra toilet paper, can donate to those in need in Waterloo.

3 - Elderly parent alone in Iowa City, need somebody to check on them.

For anyone in Cedar Rapids, Granite City said any families that need help for their kiddos meals with school being out, Granite City will provide a free turkey sandwich lunch w/ chips and applesauce to anyone who asks. No other purchase or BS necessary.

That's awesome. I know these are pretty crazy and awful times, but a weird part of me is looking forward to see how many great stories come out of this and see humans be good to each other for awhile

I have attached a list of food pantries and meals in Story County. Optimae has closed their lunch due to COVID-19.

Fareway in Marshalltown open 8-9am for at risk people only (Mon-Sat) starting tomorrow.

All Fareway stores now open 8-9 am for seniors, pregnant mothers, and other high-risk customers. Then 9 am to 7 pm for everyone else. It's up on Fareway.com.

I mentioned this in another thread but there has to be a better way to organize information than making people sift through hundreds of posts to find a relevant nugget. Can posts be pinned to the top of a single thread? We could make one big post with all this stuff and keep it updated.
