It was mostly tongue-in-cheek...
But to your point, yes Campbell is a lot about program/process, but he also wants to compete and win on the highest level. Michigan, or a school like them, gives him a chance to raise the bar.

ISU's rabid fan base gives him a better chance than UM's storied history. He's at Ames for as long as he believes he has all the tools to accomplish that goal. The fan base is in large part what lured him here, and many underestimate what an advantage it is and can be.

If people haven't figured out that Matt isn't chasing the big job paycheck by now then they probably never will. I'm not saying the guy is here forever but unless something weird happens he will be a Cyclone for the foreseeable future.

I don't know if it is think or feel but I get the sense an arrangement like Snyder had at KSU is in play here. Obviously AD change or some unforeseen event could disrupt that. Not predicting that is how it plays out but nothing is happening so suggest it isn't heading that way either.

Just let me have my dream.

One point to consider is that our perceptions are not necessarily shared by the kids being recruited today. OSU has owned Michigan since these kids were in diapers, going 15-1 since they've been alive, with UM's last win coming in 2011.

As for Harbaugh, in two of those 10 win seasons, they only finished 3rd in their division. Some will remember his time with the 49ers, and maybe even a few Stanford. But their memory of him is not the same as ours.

Still a good program with a storied past, but far from it's glory days. They're kind of like Nebraska was during the Solich/Pelini eras.
These kids being born around that 2004 range is a little sobering. Wasn’t that just a few years ago?

I wish people could come spend a solid
Month in Ohio so they could then grasp that CMC would never be the coach at Michigan.
Gunner, Are you in Ohio? Sometimes I catch on slow. You sound like a Midwesterner! Oldtimers catching up with me.
