I prefer glasses myself. Used to have contacts. Got rid of 'em.

Trying to inject some levity. We'll all be happier in a week or two, maybe sooner.
Next year will be better.
I guess he got upset with me. Idk. Maybe his I word my messages made him upset. Can’t make everyone happy I guess. Either way, you’re right.

Biggest thing I worry about with tj...and I say this only half jokingly...he was on a steve Prohm staff, he is in the steve Prohm coaching tree...and every remnant of this staff has to be purged, no stain can remain from this mess...I don’t want anyone that even knows steve Prohm to be within 250 miles of Ames.

While I understand what you’re saying, and also not wanting TJ, I don’t think TJ wanted to be on Steve’s staff at all.

Sad to say but I think you are right; agree. We need a completely new start.

I’ve worked with Steve Prohm on a couple projects while I was in college and am currently living in central Iowa.. do I have to move now?

That may be true, and I wouldn't hold it against him if he had more plusses on his current resume.
TJ has probably the best “Resume” of any of the coaches other than the older coaches people wishfully think are options.

I just want to repeat again as people seem to keep making stuff up in their heads that resume wise TJ has a really impressive resume. He has one “bad” year which frankly isn’t that bad and a lot of good years. As a head coach his would probably be graded as an A or maybe high B in 4 out of 5 years.

The criticism of TJ is people don’t think he is a great X’s and O’s coach. I think people are probably right in that being the weak point for him. That said the key is what does his staff look like. If he wants to bring in a bunch of recruiters then he probably isn’t the right fit. If he wants to bring in a former head coach and a development guy I think then he is a great choice.

So much of being the right coach is bringing in the right staff. Prohm didn’t do that. Whoever the next coach is needs to do that.

The criticism of TJ is “familiarity breeds contempt”. That and if he is successful all the people who went to the mat for Steve FOR YEARS will have to admit they were WRONG.

Sadly, I think Prohm is going to be given another year. He honestly doesn't deserve it with the disaster he put together with a more talented squad this season, but JP isn't firing him during a pandemic-plagued season, where we haven't been able to make any money in tickets and concessions.
Prohm is gone dude. Schools all over the country have been firing coaches / letting go of coaches this year. The $ thing will work itself out.

There’s not going to be money in tickets or concessions going forward if you keep him. He’s gone.

On one of the Indiana message boards I peruse, they have floated Fred's name as a potentially attractive option for them. No insiders are claiming any information that would suggest there is any contact/interest, but thought it interesting that his name is being discussed. Archie plays the 'pack line' defense with a more deliberate/slower offense, and they like the idea of Fred's 'spread it out' with volume shooting approach.

Fred’s people are probably floating his name.
