While I don’t think he would bring us back to the glory days in year 1 or 2 in terms of success on the court, I do think he would bring us back to the 2010-2015 days when Hilton actually had an impact on opponents and it was a ruckus. It hasn’t been that was since Prohms second year.
Why does it feel like they’re playing a different sport than we are lol. My lord were taught terrible fundamentals on both offense and defense. Those Aggies are coached up extremely well. Smith would be an awesome get.
He reminds me of Chris Beard a bit.
Yeah I'm not sure how realistic it is. I'm confident that Fred would come back if it was all figured out.
Well after losing to Wyoming this is how their season finished. They had 8 wins in conference. Their best win was Utah State..great win. Another came by 1 point against 9-11 Fresno State. The other 6 wins were against the 3 worst teams in the league whose combined conference record is 8-45. Their non con wins were Kansas State, Benedict Mesa and St. Katherine's. I'm certain they see that and more than likely is the reason for their trashing of TJ.
Go get a name JP or a mid major by the name of Keller, Moser or DeVries. Leave TJ where he is.
Edit: Here is why I think it will be TJ. Because JP is thinking in 4-5 years it might be time for him to move on or retire. So hire your friend and fellow Wisconsin native, and if things go south in that time you retire....TJ can move on to another mid major job...and ISU is left to pick up the pieces.

Honest question, do coaches normally jump ship a couple weeks after signing a new contract extension though? That makes me believe he isn't leaving Utah St.
I think they announced it recently. It was signed a while ago.

I have a real hard time knowing who would be better. Hoiberg or TJ.
Real talk: the freedom on offense associated with a "space and pace" scheme make it marginally easier to recruit to Ames but does require all the right pieces to make it go. Prohm, TJ, Fred doesn't matter, all their teams look like **** when they are incomplete. And even when clicking the lack of rebounding and defensive emphasis results in something of a hard ceiling for the system. I've seen this in all three coaches now and when it is bad it is easy to defend while giving opponents too many extra opportunities to beat you.
I think the next ISU coach will need to be more like Coach Campbell, someone whose system is more focused on fundamentals on both ends of the floor if ISU intends to consistently compete at a high level. They will need to have some proven credibility to identify talent and recruit to a system like that at ISU, but it can be done here. Look at the rebounding and defense that teams play in the Final Four every year, that's what ISU should try to be.

Prohm’s buyout is around $5 million, not $7 mil. Why would he resign? That doesn’t make sense. Even if this is positioned as “mutual”, it’s not. He’ll get what he’s owed contractually.
There might be more room to negotiate Hoiberg’s buyout (around $10 mil) but I don’t see why Nebraska would do that when he has their best recruiting class ever coming in.
I’m all for a Hoiberg return but practically and financially it doesn’t make sense. Nor does donors ponying up $15 million to make this all happen.
