Improve the shooting (team, overall) and this team is golden. Seems like a fair starting point.

Without delving too much into what each team lost and added, I have a hard time with a few of these rankings:

    Too high
    Maryland at #5
    Providence at #15
    Texas at #25
    Notre Dame at #26

    Too low
    Duke at #10
    LSU at # 40
    Tennessee at # 41
    Florida State at # 42
    KState at # 46

I think most fans would be pretty happy with a #34 team in the nation at season end.
ISU would be flirting with an AP ranking all year, top half of the Big 12 and roughly a NCAA 7 seed. Pretty good for losing 4 starters and sets up for a great next year with the young team Prohm has.

If we had the choice to finish there at the end of the season I'd take that in a heartbeat right now given the roster turnover we had. #34 puts us safely in the NCAA tournament around a 7-9 seed probably and given how some already feel the sky is falling and we haven't even played a game yet that is a good spot for a projection right now I think.

Iowa at #59 basically has them as a bubble team. LOL Also interesting how the Big 12 was ranked too in comparison with the pre-season Big 12 coaches projections with the # in ( )

    2. Kansas (1)
    11. Texas Tech (3)
    20. Baylor (2)
    25. Texas (4)
    34. Iowa State (7)
    44. West Virginia (5)
    46. Kansas State (9)
    65. Oklahoma State (6)
    71. Oklahoma (8)
    101. TCU (10)

Better than I expected, I would say 40-45 to start but I think the potential to be Top 25-30 by Big XII Tourney time.

Seemingly, they always overrate Horns in football and hoops. I don't get it either. Shaka is clearly the wrong coach for that place, and I'm not sure about Herman either.

We make up for it by drawing #23 Seton Hall in the Big East matchups. I saw on ESPN that the Hall has a first team All American. Not sure if we will be ready for that.

Minnesota at 79 - I know the scrimmage doesn't mean anything just interesting.

Because Texa$, and Shaka the most overrated coach in the conference. The talent level of the recruits looks really good but they usually don't perform to their expectations.
