Fort Dodge
Driving home to Fort Dodge tonight from Ames we came upon a huge wreck. A semi and about 4-5 cars that we could visibly see. Hopefully nobody on here was involved or knows anyone involved, but it got me thinking about how terrible it would be to be first on the scene of one of these accidents. My respect for first responders has increased dramatically after this. Looking at the vehicles, it was apparent that not everyone made it out of this wreck with their lives. Just wanted to take the chance to thank all of you that are first responders or are involved in anything similar. Be sure to appreciate every day, we're not guaranteed tomorrow.

Been the first responder to things like this. Its hell to see. Especially when young people are involved. Sending prayers

Yeah, much respect to first responders. I hope all are ok in this wreck.

You have no idea ... got cutoff on I-35 southbound tonight tried to brake so i didn't rear end the **** and spunout into the guard rail ... not sure how I didn't hit or get hit by another car ...

There was a jeep that did a 360 on the Merle Hay bridge in front of me last night on the way home, I was lucky to get around him, and I do not believe the jeep got hit, it was also a miracle that a State Trooper was just ahead of him, and turn on his lights right away.

I hate winter driving conditions.
