This is AWESOME news. He is a big body and will get bigger. Impressive number and shows an ability to get to rebounds. I really, really like this recruit. Godfrey, McKnight, and Ejim will see significant minutes and freshman and that can only help the program in the long run.

good news!

”I knew he was solid with Iowa State, because when we heard the news about coach McDermott, Calvin told me he’s not going to Iowa State to play for a certain coach, he’s going to Iowa State because it’s Iowa State."

That's how it should be. Academically he may not be the best, but this quote is a big deal to people like me.

So ESPN lists him as 6'8" and 215. 6'10" and 240 sounds much better. Did he grow that much since they last evaluated? Either way, welcome to the family, Calvin.

I guess I wouldn't mind if we got a bunch of 5 star recruits next year that said they are only coming to play here because of Hoiberg. But I get what you are saying

I love how they don't say WHY (scholly) just that he is. Gotta make it seem like more bad news.

"Iowa State walk-on basketball player Alex Dorr, of Norwalk, is transferring to the University of Mary in Bismarck, N.D.

Dorr played in 17 games last season as a true freshman."
