Caleb Grill with 24 for UNLV

Last season, after roster was depleted by injuries and Grill was forced into a more-active role, he seemed to have better flow, he looked more comfortable. Prior to that, I swear I didn't see him make a basket for 3 months.

I am surprised by how much Jenkins has struggled for them so far. They really only have two guys that have been doing anything for them, Grill and Hamilton.

I think we'll look back after his college career and realize he would have been a great long-term piece for us. He's one I think "got away". Didn't feel that way about Lard, THT or Wiggs...
You didn’t think it was big losing THT and Wigginton?

You could see this coming. He had a good shot, but his confidence took a hit. Looked like he was trending the right direction at the end of the year. I'm not saying we havent/can't find a better replacement, but just another miss from Prohm.

Change of scenery, conference, competition, are all weird run arounds from saying change of coach who doesn’t have every player regress except his lead PG every year he’s been a head coach.

CSP has put 8 PGs into the league? That should be a record!

Nader, Burton, Mitrou-Long, Thomas, Shayock all made big improvements under Prohm. Developing bigs might be an issue. Really need Conditt and Foster to develop well.

Agreed. I’d add NWB and Solo to that list. Tyrese also made a huge jump after his freshman year. Excited to see how Tre Jackson looks when he gets back.

Were there reports of Grill looking really good in practice last year, but it just wasn’t transferring in the games? I think he probably has improved but also benefits from no crowds.

I think we’re like three games in to the season.

Addition by subtraction... If they had half-way accepted their roles and acknowledged the rest of the team we'd be in a great spot. Hoping we replaced them with better team-oriented pieces...
I think any time you lose 2 top 50 talents who would likely develop into being all big 12 caliber players is a big loss. This roster could definitely use someone like THT for his versatility, Lindell with his grit and big play ability. I agree it was good to cut ties with Lard though.
