Yes, they had pick #1.. Could be the greatest sports deal (for the network) in broadcast historyWhich I think when CBS was with the SEC, didn't CBS get the first or second pick?

could just as easily be to prevent lawsuits - ESPN had some really shady **** planned to get OuT out of the Big 12 without them having to pay exit fees as well as paying conference members significantly less in the future.
The main point of it was inciting a panic among remaining Big 12 teams that they would accept an offer of $18 million a year or something like that in media rights as members of the AAC.I 100% believe this is true, but I don't know many of the details. Is there a good source with a fairly complete story of what ESPN wanted, how they got stymied, etc. ?
My understanding is that ESPN wanted OU and Texas to the SEC, and they didn't want the SEC (themselves actually) to have to pay the grant of rights buyout. Someone (possibly A&M) leaked the info before anyone at ESPN, OU, or Texas, wanted it to be public. And that's about all I know

ESPN can always and forever get bent.
Wishful thinking, but I believe the best approach is to fix this at an institutional level.Do you know what solves all this? A Big 12 team needs to go out and win the whole damn thing. That will shut ESPN up for now. Then the Big 12 needs to follow that with a string of very solid performances in the CFP for a few years in a row. It's the only way it will ever change.
Winning solves many issues.I think parity of NIL is going to affect the B1G and SEC more than they want, which is why they will lean on their media partners to carry water and talk about why Nick Saban's championships matter now to them as a conference instead of play on the field. The Big 12 needs to keep their **** together and win some games against them in the playoff and all of this gets a little bit easier. But it will be tough sledding if all you get is one Big 12 competing up against the P2 with seven or eight in. But ESPN knows this. Big 12 teams that get the opportunity, have to win games.
Yeah, having any Big12 school get attention and viewership is terrible for the Big12. :facepalm:Is it good to have Colorado dominate attention and viewership? How long until they start planning their 3rd realignment?
Texas dominated, decimated and nearly destroyed the Big12. 4 teams left because of their demands , then they left assuming the b12 would collapse without them.Yeah, having any Big12 school get attention and viewership is terrible for the Big12.
And? What’s that have to do with Colorados viewership lolTexas dominated, decimated and nearly destroyed the Big12. 4 teams left because of their demands , then they left assuming the b12 would collapse without them.

Michigan, Ohio state, and Penn State dominate attention and viewership and got the Big 10 the largest media deal in CFB.Is it good to have Colorado dominate attention and viewership? How long until they start planning their 3rd realignment?
How can we get that same number? Asking for a friend...Heard Brett Yormark personally contacted ESPN regarding their coverage of the Big 12, but I haven't seen any reports about it. Can anyone provide more details regarding this?
