The PAC 12 is a good example of this. Washington State is basically in the same position as ISU in their conference race. Yet even if WSU catches Arizona, Arizona will have the higher ncaa seed

Agree with your point here. Think about how many fan boards are melting down playing us. Several now saying “Jesus, we had more turnovers than field goals”. We’ve seen players and coaches melt down in game because of what our defense does to them.

Keshon can be sloppy with the ball, but - in fairness to him - he’s also the guy that ends up having to create against really good defenses because he’s probably the best a breaking down pressure and getting into the lane. So you could argue that he’s forcing things but you could also argue he has no choice but to force things sometimes.

To me it was like BRE last year, just about the only guy we had to attack the rim and keep everyone honest on defense. Was it great, no, but it had to happen.
 
Don't get all the angst about our seeding. What's wrong with a 2 seed? Or a 3 for that matter, a 2 or 3 is basically the same, matchup with a 14 or 15 is no real difference and 2/3 play one another in Sweet 16 anyway. Frankly, I don't want a 1 even if ISU could get one, too much pressure and too much grief if you manage to lose early (Hampton). As of today, I'd take the highest 3 and be happy with it, stay below the radar.

I thought you were responding to further back posts where someone was serious about Nebraska being a 15 seed and even if we were both in omaha they would probably be a 7 or 10 seed which means we wouldn't meet until the 2nd round so they would have already won their 1st ever tournament game before we played them.

A 2 seed all but assures ISU will be in Omaha the first 2 rounds which is a huge deal. 3 seed does too but less of a guarantee. I use to be like that about a 1 seed but now 16 seeds have won twice since 2018 so at least we wouldn't be the first. And 15 seeds have won 10+ times since Hampton so it's not a huge deal anymore, heck St Peter's went to the elite 8 in 2022. Overall though the math backs it up that the higher your seed the better chance you have to advance farther in the tournament

Why do you say we wouldn't get Omaha with a 1 seed?
