Brett McMurphy updated projection:

BOWL (CITY) DATE MATCHUP
Liberty Bowl (Memphis) Dec. 30 Big 12 vs. SEC

Projection: Iowa State vs. Texas A&M

The Kevin Sumlin watch enters the homestretch. Texas A&M has games remaining at Ole Miss and at LSU. The Aggies became bowl eligible Saturday, which earned athletic director Scott Woodward a $50,000 bonus. So, if Woodward does fire Sumlin after the season, maybe he’ll have the decency of adding $50,000 to Sumlin’s buyout for the bowl bonus Sumlin earned for him.

Testifying
Be really interested if TCU and OSU are in the top 11. Big 12 could get 3 teams in the NY6 if OU, TCU, and OSU win out with the only loss being TCU against OU
One of those teams will most likely lose again in the B12 title game.

I agree with this plus a prime time slot against a good SEC opponent...to the person who was scared of playing an SEC school, would you rather play a directional MAC team, have to challenge yourself at some point!
I'm just thinking about playing Texas AM or LSU in Houston. A hostile road game with intimidated officials.

Meh, only if their fans show up. Neither of those fan bases are particularly happy with their teams right now. Certainly some will travel, but proximity might actually work against them to some degree. Houston in December is no big deal if you live in essentially the same climate. The make up of the crowd may not be as slanted as you might think

Your kidding, right? A&M is basically the city of Houston’s favorite college team. College Station is only an hour north of Houston. I can assure you that more Houston residents cheer for A&M than any other university in South Texas, including both Univ of Houston & Rice (the two most prominent programs within the city limits of Houston). As for LSU, they always travel well, regardless of the team’s current standing. They too will easily have more fans present than ISU, given the proximity of Baton Rouge to Houston. If the Clones are picked for this bowl, it will effectively be a road game in our opponents back yard.
