If we go 1-1 and TCU doesn’t win one of the times vs. KU, we get the 5 seed. If TCU wins once vs KU, we could go 2-0 and still not get the 5 seed. (Tie breaker would be the win vs. KU)

I don’t see Kansas beating TCU twice. Just my gut vibe. My guess is the Horned Frogs come away with a W tonight in Fort Worth. Would that be bad for Iowa State’s 5th seed chances in the Big 12 tournament?

I would agree if KU was coming off a win. I don't see them losing two in a row.

I had said earlier that TCU beating KU wouldn't surprise me, just because the way these games have been going. But, good grief, when's the last time KU lost two consecutive conference games? Even if we win tomorrow, we may be looking at seed 6 in KC afterall.

We have to beat OkSt and Baylor to get the 5 seed. Sucks because there's a huge difference between playing Texas and Texas Tech first round.

I think if they could have beat OkSt tomorrow night, and Texas in the first round, then they could have maybe gotten a 6 seed. Now they're looking at 1-2 finish, and likely in the 7,8,9,10 range.

Yep, and even if we beat both those teams TCU still has to lose twice (@KU & @WVU).

I think the only way we get a 9 er 10 is if we go 0-3 the rest of the way out. 7 or 8 is most likely

Win tomorrow and the worst seed ISU is getting is a 7 seed. The quad 1 record is to good to drop lower.

I think so too. Just as long as we don’t get blown out in any games. If we go 2-2 (win one in KC) or even 2-1 (lose first round in KC) I think we’ll get a 6 seed.

If TCU beats WVU on Saturday (or happens to beat KU again on Thursday), it won’t matter. We are basically a lock for 6 now unless we lose out. Then, we could drop to 7.
It’d be an interesting matchup if we’d play Baylor in back to back games. But the race to win the Big 12 isn’t over yet so we really don’t know who we may play yet.

Us getting the 6 seed and playing Tech seems to be the most probable scenario.

There wasn’t a really “easy” path but starting with Texas rather than Tech was slightly easier. Either way, I don’t think this team was going to go down to KC and win it all this year.

I think we’ll put up a good fight against Tech. We’ll have “home court” advantage too.
That's the problem....playing them IS like a 'fight'. I'd rather watch a fun basketball game. Not saying we can't beat them, but man, Tech makes us play ugly. (Leave it to KU to screw up our 5 seed). In fairness, have to give TCU credit.

Which of these is more bizarre?
1. TCU loses at home to ISU 2 weeks ago, but neither Tech or KU win there the past 2 games.
2. OhioSt wins at Illinois, then loses to Maryland and Nebraska the past 2 games.

You would struggle too if you just dealt with cockburn.
