If OU can beat WVU on the road this week, and UT at Jerry's World next week, they will likely have a seat at the table in the CFP. But this is a wild league, and these games are likely to go the distance:

I gotta take WV over that horrible OU defense. Watching KU go through OU's defense like nobody was there was very unsettling. OU would get destroyed if they made the playoff IMO.

If they can survive tonight, they will have shot to redeem themselves against Texas. A win next week would insure Kyler Murray being invited to the NY Athletic Club. The committee won't know in advance who will win that, but that will give OU enough sex appeal to make the top 4 IMO. Remember, too, that the Big 12 title game will be the only interesting game of the weekend, given the lopsided divisions of the larger conferences. And remember, the committee is all about the eye test, and the eye can't test what they eye ain't watchin'!

Oklahoma’s D is hot garbage.
Back in the day, if a defense got the job done, yet had no all league caliber players, we would call them a no-name defense. It was a tribute to a unit that delivered above their skill set. But this defense has neither high caliber players, nor respectable stats. I've heard the term "defense optional" applied to teams in this league, but it just does not have an edge to it. What phrasiology would be both catchy, and put some sideways shame on this unit?
