The Big 12 Championship game is currently scheduled for December 12th or December 19th. I know the conference had an option built in so adjustments could be made depending on how/when covid situations happened during the season. Does anyone know when they will officially make the decision on which Saturday to have that game?

Ok st Baylor is scheduled on the 12th. My guess would be not until after bedlam. Unless the Pokes win out the Baylor game is going to be relevant.
They will basically decide the moment that it is know whether or not the Baylor game will be required for determining what teams will be in the conference championship game.
I have to wonder, though, if they would make OSU/Baylor play if OSU can't make the championship game but the outcome is still relevant for tie-breakers of other teams. I presume they would have to play even then. That would be interesting.

I made travel arrangements for both weekends, but I'm expecting the game to be pushed back to Dec 19th because there will be at least one game that will have relevance for who qualifies for the Big 12 Championship game. I do wonder when they will make this decision. Hope they don't wait until after the games on Dec 5th.
Right now I believe it is a postponement. Further, I believe that the postponement would turn into a no-play if it has no impact on the conference championship game.
Finally, if a game is postponed, relevant to the championship game, and STILL can't be played for some reason -- I don't remember hearing what would be done.
Does this mean that the bowl selections will be made at the same time as the CFP announcement on Dec 20th? That is crazy late for anyone who wants to attend a game.

I would guess they officially make the decision on December 5th where you have a pretty good idea if that game with OSU and Baylor actually matters.
