Wondering what everyone thinks is a good Headset with a built in Mic in the $100-$150 range?
Will be using it mostly for the oh so wonderful Zoom meetings as I am currently just using some AirPods but they are getting older and battery isn't lasting as long as they once did. Prefer to keep those for emergency use if I have to hop on a call with just my phone. Now keep in mind I'll be using this on my Home Desktop PC and also with my MacBook so something that is wired probably would be the best so I don't forget the USB dongle. Don't do any sort of hard core gaming but occasionally do some online chess games.

I wear a headset all day and have been using Blue Parrott models for about 10 years. They work well and are very reliable.

I do a lot of call center stuff so they send me free headsets to test. For wireless headsets that have a decent battery life, I like the Polycom Voyager series. I prefer the single ear Voyager because I only do 2-3 hours a day. If I was doing 8 hours a day, I would go with a dual model.

I've been using this since some time in 2019 and have had no issues. Charge lasts all day even if I have 8 hours of calls.

I bought this Avantree headset about a year ago for work (online meetings, VOIP phone, etc.) after my old USB headset finally gave out. They have been working good so far. The sound quality is great for voice, and you don't have to use the boom mic; the built in mic produces good voice reproduciton. For listening to music, the bass is a little weak.

I have these dual-paired these directly to the PC (Windows 10 Bluetooth) and my cell phone with no problems. We use Cisco Jabber in Windows, and that app is very finicky with BT headsets. I tried two others before this one that I could not get to work with Jabber.

One thing I don't exactly like for chatting is having both ears covered, because I think I talk louder than necessary. I usually pull one earpiece back a bit to uncover one of my ears a little bit.

All of you using Bluetooth/wireless headsets on conference calls… stop it. You’re adding 100-300ms of latency to (potentially) what’s already introduced by the crappy Zoom/Teams call. This is why people are perpetually talking over each other and there are ridiculous pauses when questions are asked.

(Climbs off soapbox)

I have some old over-the-ear Sennheisers that are very comfortable (which is probably the most important thing). The microphone can be raised/lowered (convenient) and is noise-cancelling, so it’s much harder for folks on the other end to hear dogs/children yapping in the background. They also sound great.

Good luck!

The research we've done suggests that for us it was our VPN that was causing speed issues. Once we put Teams outside of our VPN(split tunnel), everything ran a lot more smooth. People that use VDI's are even worse.
