Bell vs John's vs Tico

I've had a long held, though extremely minority opinion (as in I'm the only one) among coworkers, friends, etc, that among the Mexican fast food chains that Taco Tico reigns supreme. And I have to add that I do like Taco John's. But when going by strictly tacos, burritos, and the like, I don't think it's even close. I would go Tico, John's and as a distant third, Bell. I just wanted other people's opinions to support or destroy my opinion. Of course, if you disagree with me, you're wrong.
Taco Tico hands down.

Grew up in a town that had only Taco John's of the 3, so that gets my vote. 6 pack and a pound. Taco Tuesdays. Softshell Saturdays. Nachos Navidad. I could go on forever.

That said, Taco Tico was in nearby Mason City, so if I wanted to really treat myself, I'd hop in the car and drive the 25 minutes for some cheap good eats. Definitely my 2nd choice.

Taco Bell sucks, but I will admit that I am a sucker for the Doritos Tacos. The wife also enjoys the breakfast, which I don't believe the other 2 participate in.

My old roommate/drummer and I would always split a 6 pack and a pound on our way to band practice on Sundays. Those potato ole's with cheese are great.

No Tasty Taco or Abelardos listed in thread title? This is a failure of a thread. Abelardos breakfast burrito is amazeballs. Tasty tacos tacos are great. The rest don't compare.

Maybe I just ordered the wrong thing but I was less then impressed the one time I stopped there it was the one in Ankeny if that makes a difference.

I said I never heard of it because it's nowhere near where I have ever lived or gone more than once or twice in my life. So I only rated Bell and John's because of that reason.

Rudy's Tacos are probably the best Americanized Mexican Food in the state. I crave their Tacos and especially their enchiladas the 6 months I'm in FL. Family all still can meet up there on a whim with a few text messages and boom, we're there.

Smothered Chicken Enchilada and Cheese and Onion Enchilada and your arteries are clogged for life.
You must be from in or around the QC's.

Rudy's is OK, especially when compared to the others.

But that is like "what is your favorite virus between influenza, covid-19 and HIV?" Nothing good, just the lesser bad.

Adelardos' green chili burrito is my favorite burrito of all time.
Abelardo's #7 beef FTW.

I had Taco Tico for the first time this summer. I enjoyed it. The last time I bought Taco Bell it was on the way home from the bar about 10 years ago and I couldn't finish that disgusting stuff.

Rudy's was great at 2:30am after closing down The District.

Johns for sure and specifically the one in Marshalltown. I don’t know what they do but they sure know how to make a TJs taco.
As far as fast food, TJs in Mtown for sure. There are better Mexican food options though. Any place else, TB. (Never been to TT)

Has anyone tried Taco Bueno? I've seen a couple locations here in KC and I considered giving them a try. I think they are primarily in KS, OK and AR.

I haven't had a taco or burrito from any of the three in at least 5 years, but I'd gladly get a taco at Tasty Taco any day.

Taco John's wins of the three because I'll occasionally stop and order some Oles.
