Beat Iowa Dual Thread

Someone is going to have to explain the stall calls against Rocky in the final. He was the aggressor the whole match. He even got a stall call at the end as he was taking down Endene in the final seconds.
he didn’t return the opponent to the mat in time. If you are just hanging on and getting the wrestler returned, you will get hit. Rocky just hung on since it ensured that Endene couldn’t score anything more than a couple stall points and guaranteed the win.

One of the weirdest D1 coaches in America.

I've worked with one of his best friends and someone extremely close to the Iowa program. Wrestling is a sport full of weirdos, but there's nothing like the clown show in Iowa City. Tom Brands is as weird as it gets. They're entertaining, not dumb, but a very bizarre cult of humans. Dresser is refreshing in that he has the swagger and entertainment value, but seems to be more grounded than the rest of that crew.

The one in the 3rd period was legit. Rocky didn't make an attempt to return him to the mat. The other was the last in a long line of terrible calls from the ref trying to keep Iowa alive in the dual. We're very fortunate we took care of business and kept it out of his hands. He decided Ferrari's match and was really close to swinging MJ's.

If he was going to call it that way, he could've hit Bailey at least 2x more as well as Williams. They both LITERALLY quit wrestling. AE would've had the tech if it was called the same as it was later in the dual. It's maddening.
Keuter didn’t shoot at all and had skates on the whole match. Think he was only hit twice.

Every time I see Brands I just think it’s fortunate for him theres this niche career for wack jobs like him. Because I can’t see him functioning in normal society.

I'm decent acquaintances with Morningstar...he's a great, down to earth dude. Honestly with out him, no telling how unhinged that corner would be.

I know an old friend/teammate of his. He basically says, not in exact words, Tom really knows wrestling but is pretty dumb about everything else.

Felt like a tale of two halves. Swallowed the whistle the first 5 matches, then started calling frequently the last 5 matches. Could be wrong since I haven’t seen the stats, but certainly felt that way.
Totally agree. I asked my oldest kid if the bald guy became lead official half way through because the stall calls went from extremely rare to almost a randomly frequent type thing.

Imagine him being the welcome guy at Walmart.

Dresser's little wink at the camera after PJ's loss was awesome when he said he'd answer in an hour when he feels better.
