B-ball Tickets

Just picked my new seats. Here is some intel on what was available:

Lower level. Must be a Victory donor or higher to get into the lower level. And there were only singles and one piggy-backed pair.

Sections 211, 212, 232, 233. Requires Captains level donation. Lowest pairs are in Rows 11, 8, 10, 11.

Sections 210, 213, 231, 234. Requires Gold level donation. Lowest pairs are in Rows 7, 7, 6, 8.

Sections 209, 214, 230, 235. Requires Cardinal donation. Lowest pairs are in Rows 3, 5, 5, 4.

Sections 208, 215, 229, 236. Requires Gold donation. Lowest pairs are in Rows 2, 8, 7, 10.

Sections 201-206, 216-219, 224-228, 237-242. Public. Seven sections have pairs in Rows 1-3.

Note that all will change as others make their picks in donation order.

Ran into the “can’t leave a single ticket” problem. Called ticket office and they handled it

What donor levels are we at as of last night? Im at the back of Gold and do my selection this afternoon.

As anticipated, nothing lower/better for me. Same seats as since 2010. Well, I think I did move down from row 10 to 9 over that time...

We have 6 tickets in two location.

3 seats are in 213 row 3. Those seats were acquired by years of gradually moving up. A few years ago we had to go to the $1000 donation level to keep those seats. I’m hoping the new deal doesn’t increase that by much. As an aside, $475 per seat is crazy.

But our other 3 seats were on a corner section in row 15. They originally started out at $99. But I suppose we are paying $200 now for them. But we were able to move to row 9 this year.

This was the first year where I seriously wondered if that amount of money was worth it. But I spent 20 years to get the row 3 seats so I’m sticking with it.

http://www.cyclones.com/images/2016/5/19/Hilton Coliseum Seating Chart-MBB_71.jpg is accurate for pricing. (Edit: whoa, not even close - https://cyclones.com/sports/2017/7/12/mens-basketball-tickets-second-level.aspx appears to be accurate). I’m partial to corners, so it works out ok for me. I like being able to see the benches, but in terms of watching the game, I don’t think one is better than the others.

I’m curious as to what kind of seats you’re able to get. Based on recent history, you’d be in the “greys,” but I have no idea what the last 2 years have done to retention.
Fyi i ended up in row 12 of 213

Lucky you. Our previous seats are already gone. We'll be moving up and not in the good way.
I hope you didn't select "new" seats. Unless we don't have all of the info, your previous seats were already gone because you have them so if your best option was to keep them you do nothing and stay put.

well I did not know this but... it worked out anyway. we had 3 together on the aisle and 1 a row above and several seats toward the middle. there was nothing available around our aisle seats so i got some that are all together now just higher up.

I'm preparing for a slight increase in those levels, but I think ISU may get rid of the Non donation sections in football and basketball and at least require something. A lot more sections in football that are just tickets only I'm guessing compared to bball.

I should have tried that. There were a couple of 5 spots open but I only needed 4. Had to settle about 6 rows behind them.

I waited like 10 min to get someone on the line. They coulda been gone by the time you got someone.

Could be, but there are probably some, like me, that have 4 football tickets in the non-donor sections.

The season starts in less than a month...does one normally have to wait so long to buy single-game tickets dates throughout the whole season?
